I agree so entirely! I honestly would have never predicted this ending in a million years! It felt so refreshing and awesome! I loved this series and I REALLY LOVED the last 2 episodes. Epic.

I swear. If they don't have Stocking turn face back(or for that matter improve on the whole show) in season 2, Gainax just might fall from grace more than KyoAni ever did.

If Stocking and Panty are sisters, and Stocking is a demon, then maybe Panty is a demon too. I would not mind having more demon sisters.
Second series is not as likely since they would get hate mail if they tried to do a sexy scene like the transformation with Brief.

According to Gainax's Twitter the second season will only be available in the Blu-Ray :c

After the Zombie episode, Gainax looks "flexible" with continuity.
If there is a season 2, no one is going to care too much about how they retconned the season 1 ending. It could be as easy as "1 year after the end of season 1" with a 5 minute montage on how Panty and Stocking were recovered and are now back to normal for the rest of the season.
It was all good, till Stocking stabbed Panty through her brain, that was really a mind fuck. I hope they really make a sequel, since that fucking last scene will let me shocked for the rest of my life otherwise. :<
If Stocking really is a demon how is she able to wield a holy wepon? Remember Scanty's face was burned when Panty threw Backlace at her. It's possible she's acting as a spy or she's possessed(guessing based on the weird look in her eyes when she cut Panty up).
Stocking has a very weird look in that Gainax Ending. AND,see the photo 24. Who's the one that uses a corset?
By saying this is some Gainax stuff we can easily assume rational stuff is won't really happen. However, remember demons are fallen angels, Stocking can become a Demon and, therefore, Panty would still be an angel.
This ep strongly implied that Panty and Stocking are sisters because they share the same mother.
Maybe they're actually half-sisters with different fathers.
I assume Stocking was produced when the "okasa" had sex with a demon.
