Ocarina of Time is an overrated piece of shit. I've completed it including Master Quest numerous times. I think people who hold it in such regard are half-assed gamers who haven't played very many games, clinging onto some misguided childhood nostalgia.

I still have fond memory of completing Zelda: A Link to the Pass 5 times and Secret of Mana 2 times on SNES, and also hours at the games shops playing against other secondary schoolers on Dragonball 2, Bomberman 2, and Mario Cart ^^

I remember people hashing out that graphics/gameplay argument back when Secret of Mana was still a new release. Fancy 16-bit games spending too much time on frivolous stuff like broad color palettes and Mode-7... This same "debate" has raged for each and every new hardware generation, and it's always been equally inane. For every great game that people hold up as an example of how great things used to be, they forget that there were a thousand shitty ones that history has conveniently forgotten.

Even though I never played the SNES when I was young, I got into it's games via emulation. Recently got myself an actual SNES and found myself playing it more than my Wii or PS2....
Totally agree. I'm surprised it got #2 to NES. Although NES did basically spark the popularity of video games, SNES was where it really started to gain momentum. Everyone I know, when asked to name a classic old video from their past, thinks of Super Mario World.

Yes, honestly, I counted the N64 had only about 10 particularly good games. 8 or 9 of them made by Nintendo. I always felt the 3D era came too soon, SNES 2D looked better. N64 looked like shit and so did PS1. I'd rather play Kirby Super Star than Mario Kart 64.

Both the Genesis/Mega Drive and the Master System were kind of nonstarters in Japan with the Genesis/MD being much more popular in Europe and the US

Yes, I loved the 3+ Gameboy Color systems that I had that were stolen & the 1 remaining system that is in poor condition I have left...
first half consists of nintendo consoles and i owned ever one of them at one point in time, so nostalgic. too bad my nes broke, sold my snes, super fat game boy got wet and broke. The only surviving nintendo consoles are my n64 and gameboy color.

A) It's the Mega Drive in Japan, not Genesis.
B) The Sega Saturn was FAR superior to the MD/Genesis, especially in Japan.
I still have my Saturn hooked up to my nice TV. The MD is sitting in my closet until I can get a Mega CD.
