Not to be outdone by Japan’s famed giant Gundam statue, China has decided to copy the whole thing.
The Gundam is reportedly being erected in a Sichuan theme park, and naturally enough is free from any sort of official blessing by Bandai.
Just what it is made of and how long it will remain standing are matters of some conjecture.

Plastic is quite indestructable. It can't be processed by any natural way. The plastique will take millions of years to be decomposed.

Mainland China, I was only lucky enough to find knockoff stuff or SEVERELY outdated stuff. Finding actual Japanese merchandise is for the niche market which is in rare nooks and crannies. Nothing close to anything recent. Knockoff anime, yes. But Gundam? Hell no. China outright bans anime these days and tries to show their own low quality watchamacallits.
Psh, those mass-produced models are no match of the original gundam!!

Do most of those guys even KNOW what the heck that is? I've been to China and believe me, Gundam is banned (as is a lot of anime)and the only people that will know of it are those who download it off the internet. (very few people)
There is also the fact that this isn't even the Gundam colors. It is WHITE with Red and Blue details and GOLD trim, not a urine yellow with dull blue/green i don't know. Rusted bronze I guess.
Believe it or not, the majority of the Chinese populace will call it a Chiu Ren (Superman) because they don't know what this is.
