Most of these rooms are a cluttered mess but creepy? No. Was there one dakimakura being hugged by a were-giraffe..anywhere...I couldn't spot one. Normalcy 72%.
i'm glad you rate the normalcy (is that even a word? a measured amount of the act of being normal perhaps?) at such a high percentage. at least looking at these photo's i don't feel like the 30yr old man child my mother and my minute circle of friends claim i am when they look at my collection of dvd's and figures. i guess my level of normalcy is pretty high after all...

People in the western world should feel blessed that they consider living in such small quarters to be downright abuse. lol
As messy as these rooms are, it's kinda true that some houses just doesn't have enough open storage spaces. So you get all the otaku junk/treasure hanging around. I don't think my room was all that different other than not owning a PC since PCs weren't really in vogue in the 90's in Japan.
