Ore no Imouto’s 9th episode brings with it a bevy of delightful eroge and Kirino-derived moe moments, almost enough to rival the especially cheerful episode 6, and definitely much more than the previous episode‘s sterner story.
The episode, a very light-hearted one, falls roughly on the 3/4 completed mark of the one-cour series, which meaning that it is possible only a few more “normal” episodes remain before the show winds itself down on whichever ending the anime adaptation will have (something which is still a topic of intense speculation amongst fans).
Kirino’s otaku magazine continues the little gag mentioned in episode 8.
The box of Kirino’s much-anticipated eroge is quite fun to read; the bold-style text near the top (which actually sounds dirtier in English) roughly goes: “A Push-Down Little Sister Love Comedy“.
The revolving OP used throughout the series usually supplies several memorable new images each time, but this episode’s OP was particularly inspired with a roll-call of nearly the entire female cast of the show along with their personalized variations of the ever-popular “onii-chan!” chant:
“Baka Ani”
“Nii-san”
Otaku sister Saori luckily managed to get an especially lovely one:
“Onii-sama”
Manami’s turn gets her the classic version of this otaku line, which is likely the only one that can match the powerful “Onii-sama” variation in moe power:
“Onii-san”
“…”
Kirino’s cutely mute classmate Kanako happens to share the same seiyuu with the much more often seen Meruru of Kirino’s favorite mahou shoujou show, 田村ゆかり / Yukari Tamura, best known for playing Nanoha Takamachi.
“Onii-chan♥”
Those are this episode’s supporting eroge characters on top, Rinko and Miyabi.
The elder maid Kyosuke met in a manga kissa many episodes ago wasn’t given a name then, nor here, so apparently the poor girl has none.
The system specs on Kirino’s newest eroge, Sis X Sis, is amusing just from the copyright-dodging parody words, although the resolution shown does seem odd for an eroge.
Ruri, much like Kyon, has an adorable little sister named after her: “Kuroneko no Imouto”.
“You’re my brother?”
“Let’s get along well from today on, Onii-chan!”
Little is seen of the actual eroge’s plot, so it is not sure where these two fetching girls acquired a sibling – either a new stepbrother, or a brother from a broken household are the usual eroge staple explanations for a spontaneously-generated older brother.
Kirino’s tongue!
Ayase deftly counters with a sort of partial-Kira★! and tongue pose.
She has little to do this episode, but at least she looks as lovely as ever doing it:
It is a bit odd for an eroge to continue having “location” labels in the top of the screen, aside from a brief flash at location changes or beginning of a new scene.
Kirino’s yelling at Rinko-chan for not behaving as a proper imouto ought to towards her older brother is amusingly ironic.
A shame Kyosuke isn’t around to hear any of it.
What a lovely blush…
Super cute Imouto’s hairstyle (perhaps) makes her resemble a miniature Siesta, aside from the eye color, of course.
This fancy anime-style teatime is worthy of Tsumugi herself.
Plus, something else 2D that’s invariably superior to its 3D counterpart:
“W-Well…do it gently, alright?”
Fortunately for the viewers (and Kirino), it didn’t take too long to win Rinko over to her brother’s charms.
None of it gets shown on the show, but any experienced eroge player will identify the scene here as a ‘flag” for an upcoming H-scene.
Kirino’s need for a shower at this point helpfully sets up a nice service scene:
Her time bathing luckily shows clear signs of being setup just right for an eventual DVD de-steaming:
The flashcards Kyosuke uses are a time-honored way for young Japanese to study English, although this one feels to be worded awkwardly.
Poor Kyosuke is unlikely to be able to concentrate much in any case because of, in his own words, his “sister’s ero-voice” coming in through his walls.
It’s good to be reminded that Kirino enjoys her eroge’s big scenes as much as any otaku does.
Kirino’s fluidly animated mini-climax includes some tasty foot fetish material around this point.
Ruri has a lovely response to Ruri no Imouto’s question about the people in her picture: “They’re friends that live in the same world as us.”
Probably owing to the expense of using a different ED almost every episode, the ED sequences for this show tend toward being more statically animated than the norm, but this week’s ED actually had a good amount of new art in it:
The placement of Akiba in the middle of a flurry of heart-themed shots might not be out of place as it would seem to outsiders – the otaku Mecca is definitely the centre of physical eroge culture.
This week’s beautiful ED illustration was once again used as a backdrop for the ED itself:
The talented artist behind this one is ぽよよんろっく / Poyoyon-rokku (personal website here), whose specialty could be said to be loli-moe.

Kirino’s tongue!

Animuted. :3
APNG! :D
I thought Ruri was rich....
Now I'm really fall for her(as much to nagato) (>∀<)/
reminds me of The World God Only Knows ep.2 B FLAG.2.5
Awwww... Poor Mio-san.
Saori <3 Ojou-sama! I came, when they showed that teatime scene <3<3<3
anyone else?
I'm always though saori was somekind Ojou-sama at ep 4
that or a super model being tall and all ;D
She might be a super-model, she has the qualifications(albeit her face hasn't been shown in the anime yet but she she has the height, figure and bearing to pull it off neatly) and the fact that she used a box of expensive cosmetics to pack in doujinshi that she sent to Kirino via Kousuke during a previous episode. Kirino even pointed out she can't even afford that brand when she saw the box's label.Either she is one or just your unexpected rich girl.
That whole part threw me for a loop...at first, I thought I was watching something else for a moment.
not everyone expected due to her usual clothes
The tsuntsun eroge character put Kirino into Kyousuke's shoes. Wonder if she noticed it D:
She was ironically oblivious, I'd say, hence the "100% tsun, 0% dere" comment.
Dat tongue!
Oh how I love that tongue...
Dat Tongue indeed...
Disgustingly creepy on mid aged man.
Awesomely delicious on perverted loli sister.
My nutbladder can't be this busted.
I had a feeling Saori was the mysterious rich girl with the maid uniforms when she first appeared. The shot of their picture in a frame was the proof that sealed the case.
Still I'm hoping for them to have her face revealed in the anime even if the series is close to conclusion.
she talked about being too tall on that thing she ordered so she had to make a custom one made :3
then again just looking at her hair color alone from behind ;d
Your avatar... <3
I think so to :3
She has that picture too, so there would be no mistaken
Saori is the hottest girl on this show.
I know!
Kirino is excellent and all, but I do greatly hunger to see more of the refined Saori.
if it's not Saori then who is it?
My vote goes to Ayase :)
too hard to choose...Kuroneko,Kirino,Ayase,Saori and Kuroneko's sis...too hard to decide!!
Nope, in context it's very clearly Saori. That plus the maid uniforms make for some ... interesting foreshadowing. (And ep 10 *is* about cosplay...)
Kuroneko is the best.
Kuroneko FTW!
lol the haters, don't like it don't watch it.
it doesn't get any simpler than that.
Well see, the thing is...if they don't hate. What else do they have?
Hating is like a drug...you need more, and it causes self-esteem issues.
Its bad when it goes too far. For example, in videogames, some fanboys even go so far as to set up websites to promote consoles they like and trash another. Just look at what they're doing to GT5, which was just released. Calling a game with 1 to 1 accuracy of car power/speed unrealistic whilst praising that other racer which actually does things worse.
Forza - It's sooo cool, you can "CRASH" and it's so real = 10/10
GT5 - You need to level up to unlock stuff?!! WTF 6/10
Well, in the case of video games.
Alot of people tend to forget they are just arguing their opinions to each other... making each side look as dumb as the other.
If you like anything...no one's opinion can change that.
Ruri is such a good sister.
One of Quen's favourites I'd imagine? :D
I quite like it, so yes. ^^
Did i just die and went to heaven?
Cause Kirino is really like a beautiful ero-angel <3
Amen \o/
Anyone feel like there was 3 episodes in this one?
It's so good you don't want it to end ^_^ Kira!
Despite being an original episode, the screenplay for this episode is written by novel author Fushimi Tsukasa himself, so it can be considered more or less canon, and it fits the narration gap between novel volumes 3 and 4 just right.
As the novel is usually told from Kyousuke's POV, this episode allows us to briefly glimpse into the lives of other characters when Kyousuke is not around.
It's a bit like Suzumiya Haruhi's "Someday in the Rain" episode, whose screenplay is also written by its creator, deviating from the usual Kyon POV.
TO ALL INCEST HATERS IN THIS ARTICLE:
YOU'VE PICKED WRONG ANIME
THIS IS NOT YOSUGA NO SORA
Awesome episode. Loved the distiction made between Kirino's and Kuroneko's rutine and, at the end, how those connect with each other.
Also loved the extra blush on Kirino's face when entering the bathroom again and finding Kyousuke in the hallway, just after the erogue scene.
Can't wait for Saori's party : ) Sadly this is just a filler...
Saori = Tsumugi
Hopefully there will be a Kirino X Kuroneko no Imouto raep doujin next comiket.
needs more yuri and yuri incest
Kirino x Ayase anyone? :DDDD
Don't worry pal. We're gonna see some yuri and incest stuffs soon. Just be patient.
