An otaku devotee of Fate Testarossa shares the year-long journey he took in pursuit of having her likeness carved indelibly onto the entirety of his back.
The Fate fan in question actually started posting photographs of his early progress on 2ch in late January, eventually culminating in the recent thread he made on completion of the tattoo:
I got an ita-tattoo, any questions?
I want to see it. I really want to see it.
Well, it’s finally done, after starting a year ago. I’ll upload all the pictures.
This is the rough outline.
This is the first time I’ve really seen someone throw away their life…

tattoos in japan carry a stigma that they are yakuza, apparently that is changeing overthere, slowly, but surely.
they have to learn what every other culture has already learned about tattoos.
1) they are permanent, barring a scarring surgical procedure, in which case the tatoo is almost always better.
2) make DAMN sure that your tat is timeless. in 10-20 years, will this be the biggest mistake you ever made? see mr cool ice for example of major fuck up
3) how will other people react if they see the tat? thats cool, thats meh, you fucking moron, or GET HIM. this tattoo will make you the one to watch if ANYONE ever sees it, as in there the japan equivalent of an amber alert, you better be well armed because people will borderline murder you.
He says his coworkers already spotted it, and that he had to leave the onsen on a company trip when a customer came along.

The art is nice but did it have to go down to his buttcrack, Fate is tainted.
It actually came out fairly well, although those other tatoos on his back ruin it a little.
Of course it's a pretty stupid thing to do, but no worse than any other large tatoos really.

Only that anime/manga is usually seen as something negative/childish compared to a large dragon, skull, angel or cross on the back.

Yeah, the placement of the tattoo is wrong. Wayyy too low. However, I don't understand why Fate's foot wasn't completed. I mean if he was willing to go THAT far, why not?
He should've gone the whole way and first erase his old tattoos and then place Fate-chan on a better place.
Even if he got laid, I doubt he'd enjoy it as much as fapping to his 'love'.

I agree! His ability to pick up girls at the beach has been reduced to 0, but most girls don't see your back until you're already sleeping with them anyway.
If I were going to get an Ita-tattoo though, I wouldn't choose such a childish art style.

I have to agree. It's not like people were walking half naked on streets, at work etc. And I'm sure that if he finds a girlfriend, maybe she'll be shocked at first but I don't think it's a matter for break up. And those one night acquaitances (damn, what a difficult word) couldn't care less.
