Fujoshi vs Seiyuu

my-replica-cant-be-this-cute.jpg

The refusal of an excited fujoshi audience to even acknowledge female seiyuu whilst the same crowd hysterically greets their male counterparts with an ear-splitting shriek of enthusiasm has been noted with some disapproval by fans.

The event highlighted as an example of this phenomenon is the Tales of Festival 2009, an event centred on Namco Bandai’s Tales series of RPGs, which have long proved popular with female gamers for their high levels of bishonen content.

As can be seen by comparing the audience reception of male versus female seiyuu, the fujoshi present seem less than enthused by the efforts of the female seiyuu, snubbing them completely:

One observer on 2ch summarises the difference in reaction between the sexes:

Otaku

Male seiyuu: Domo!
Ota: Wooooooooo!!!
Female seiyuu: Domo!
Ota: Woooooooooooooooooo!!!

Fujoshi

Male seiyuu: Domo!
Fu: Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Female seiyuu: Domo!
Fu: …

Another observer puts it more succinctly: “Whichever gender they are seiyuu fans are a creepy bunch!”

it's amazing how women get catty like that toward other, more attractive (and cute) females.

That was... incredibly painful to watch... like... my chest hurts at how sorry I feel for those women. You could even see it in their faces too, that brief flicker of realization and then the near shame walk up to the front...

HouseLife, are you sure you aren't confusing fujoshis with feminists? They might both be annoying, but fujoshis don't care about any 'empowerment' shit. Give credit when it's due.

On another note, the video's down...

If anything, should we be blaming the male fans for not attending... or the event itself for not bringing Halko Momoi and Kugyu to attract more male attendance?

Then again, seeing Yukana and Ito getting no reaction made me shook my head :<

This is why I despise them so.. They go around ranting about how male/male couples are this and that and if you don't support them, you're sexist or some shit. Yet this is how they react to girls?

What makes it worst is that female non-fujoshi otaku get that fujoshi stereotype from from everyone. :(

Whichever gender you are, the tastes of both run rampant like the Black Plague...

I've been to both sides and have actually read some "Mpreg" fanfics from "Devil May Cry", "Castlevania", and even "Tales of Symphonia" and "Tales of the Abyss"...

Please, let's not be a-holes. Fujoshi can be bros (sis) too. Just like there are stupid delusional fanboys who embarrass us all there are annoying screeching fangirls.

And before everyone votes me down, I'm a fujoshi and have met tons of my female comrades. From my personal experience, they not only get excited over female seiyuu (like I did when May'n and Megu came to the US) they are awesome people.

I'm not sure how it's in Japan though.

I'm a fujoshi and I have fujoshi bros (sisses?) in Australia, America and Japan. All of us - especially my japanese fujoshi sisses, love female characters and seiyuu just as much as we love male characters.
Hell, I'm a straight girl who'd go gay for Rie Kugimiya in a heartbeat and a have a ton of waifus.
There are tons of dumbass fujoshi, but they've got nothing on the dumbass male otaku there are that smash all their goods when a female character looks at a male character for more than a nano-second.

You go gay for Kugimiya and I for Hideyoshi, but it's my impression that fujoshi go all "KYAAAA!!" only for feminine men? Or then can I safely say that fujoshi are gay to begin with?
I wonder how many are there into Fist of the North Star male chars.
I can simpathize with you, not based on anything but opinion though. But for males there's hardly any moe guys to go gay for, so sry for that.

On a sidenote, male otaku brain have something in common with their own anuses: one-way only. But you can bet none of us here will go that far if a seiyuu we like wants to have a boyfriend. That narrowmindedness is exclusive from Japan I think.

What is? It is a well established fact that positive emotions associated with anime-based media have alot to do with sexual attraction, even if we refuse to acknowledge that. Womans have the right to fap (shlick) to their favorite gay males too.

To put simply, it is big amount of sexy bitches and dudes that make anime awesome. Be it for men or women.
