The refusal of an excited fujoshi audience to even acknowledge female seiyuu whilst the same crowd hysterically greets their male counterparts with an ear-splitting shriek of enthusiasm has been noted with some disapproval by fans.
The event highlighted as an example of this phenomenon is the Tales of Festival 2009, an event centred on Namco Bandai’s Tales series of RPGs, which have long proved popular with female gamers for their high levels of bishonen content.
As can be seen by comparing the audience reception of male versus female seiyuu, the fujoshi present seem less than enthused by the efforts of the female seiyuu, snubbing them completely:
One observer on 2ch summarises the difference in reaction between the sexes:
Otaku
Male seiyuu: Domo!
Ota: Wooooooooo!!!
Female seiyuu: Domo!
Ota: Woooooooooooooooooo!!!Fujoshi
Male seiyuu: Domo!
Fu: Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Female seiyuu: Domo!
Fu: …
Another observer puts it more succinctly: “Whichever gender they are seiyuu fans are a creepy bunch!”
stupid youtube, they deleted the video -.-
Damn, the vid is already gone.
I think is about time to leave fuckyoutube…
Already annoyed with the constant “This video inst available in your country” becauso of fucking Sony Music.
Internet really goes down the drain.
IP blocks, KSSN and other security number checks, more advertising, censorship and so on.
Yeah, i can hear you. Fucking pussy youtube. Sony screams “We own freedom of expression” and they follow suit like the little s♥♥t doggies they are.
Copyright and all that bullshit shouldn’t be applied to something like youtube.
How the hell does male preg even work? I mean wouldn’t that no longer make it male but shemale?
Fujoshi are scary. I have first hand in encountering them. If you cosplay as someone they like. And they find another male dressd up as a character that is in their fantasies they will try to pay you to do a make out scene with another guy.
Seriously if you see a fujoshi..run…run far away.
Well, although yaoi and scat/watersports still creeps me out more than any other guro ever will, each to his/her own (it’s not “Ooohhh I like yuri so that’s enough to force others to like it… and vice versa for yaoi/futa/l♥♥i/shota”). Though, the thought of a fujoshi FORCING you to do a YOUxHIM pairing and more (!) is just plain nuts. 2d was made to cater to the needs (no matter how messed up it is, for other people) of people, and to let your fantasies enjoy themselves without limits. Though I would like a (specific, isolated, and free) place where anything (and everything of the H genre) can happen, 2d already has that taken care of.
Also regarding mpreg, I dun even wanna know. (though I can kinda understand how most women, or even men, would find l♥♥i/guro/futa and others just not to their tastes, either)
All these comments defending Fujoshi as a whole, yet when the next article about an Otaku rolls out will anyone care? Will anyone one say “we’re not all like that” no, everyone will just generalize like they’ve done for all the other articles, everyone will talk about how horrible and stupid the Otaku are and no one will defend them, here we get all these Fujoshi “No, not all of us!”, yet when it comes time to mock the Otaku he gets no such sympathy, he’ll be insulted as some product of the fictional evil Japan everyone has in their heads, the Otaku will not get as much sympathy as the Fujoshi on this page.
More like fujoshis are lashing out in denial after being ignored for so long.
Now that more news about these scums are coming out, of course they’re getting into defensive mode.
i’m a fujoshi. and it’s not that i hate female seiyuu, i just like male seiyuu better. i don’t even know that much about female seiyuu. so i wouldn’t squee when seeing them, i’d just respectfully applaud them (which maybe they did, but you don’t get to hear it). anyway some female seiyuu are able to get that enthusiastic reaction from a female audience, like saiga mitsuki (i guess because she usually plays male charas).
the thing is many times female charas are portrayed as weak, damsels in distress or air-headed moeblobs, and many girls don’t like that. they like strong female charas who can make them feel proud, not some poor girl who needs to be protected.
about that:
-which maybe they did, but you don’t get to hear it-
if few people did while the vast majority didn’t, then I’d doubt it if I (or the seiyuu) could hear it. And, whether you heard it or not, it’s still plain rude (and somewhat embarrassing to the person in front) to not applause someone who is doing their best for the fans.

I fully agree that “some” anime rely on moe WAY more than a plot (or have no clear plot at all). And poor-defenseless (or, meek) girls (or, even guys) can turn on a switch in a person (aka sympathy/empathy) and that fits pretty well in many anime. And, if you look around, there are some good anime with strong female chars (though, in many cases for both genders, they are strong outside but are very different inside). Each to his/her own, but don’t bash something/someone without at least knowing what it is and how other, different-minded people feel about that person/thing.
for TL:DR, Show some respect. Everyone deserves it.
