Hatsune Miku English Version Announced

Hatsune Miku’s English edition has been confirmed after her demand for more Facebook likes was met.
The preliminary announcement comes by way of her Facebook page (now at 42,000 likes):

Yeah, as it is I've seen people doing impressive english vocaloid songs already. If things go nicely we might get a vocaloid that can sing totally awesome english. I'd like that.

Aren't there more than a few hundred millions native English speakers in the world? You'd think they could locate one that sounds just as cute as Japanese voice actresses.
Yes, there are dozens of girls who speak English and have cute voices- it's not just limited to one country to have cute-sounding girls.
And since the company has been planning on an English voice for a while, and they know that Miku has thousands of fans across the world, of course they're probably going to put their asses in gear and find someone who would suit her as her English voice. I'm sure that they'll do a fine job transitioning her from Japanese to English.

A Japanese actor can be as bad as an English one. I think you should hope for a good voice actor of any background.
That would ruin it. Unless the voice can *perfectly* enunciate her "L"'s, and (as I described before, the different "A" sounds required for English, it'll be a waste of time to make if they make a Japanese sounding English girl.
I'm worried. I can't wait to hear it, but I'm worried.
English is *not* easy to duplicate, programs now sound pretty hack. Hopefully they'll do enough for her to make sure "earth" doesn't sound like: "ee-arth", and "you-ser" [user], doesn't sound like a Japanese "oo-ser". =(
Actually you have to bare in mind that the voice for Vocaloid is just recording. Even 'if' Saki Fujita's English pronunciation wasn't perfect, pretty sure she can perfect it with multiple attempts on the recording and with someone professional helping/instructing her with the English pronunciation.
Seiyuu's voice can be said to be the soul of the character...replacing Miku's voice with someone else's is just not Miku at all, but a fake.
I don't understand how my credit is tarnished for that. Remind me to kiss Miku's ass more in my next post.
Luka's bilingual. If you're concerned about Japanese Vocaloids singing in English, you should find some Luka songs on Youtube and decide if it's good enough. She's got a bunch of Gaga stuff for some reason... and it wasn't as terrible as I thought as it would be.
The thing is, the company behind Vocaloid and its financier, Yamaha, aren't musical novices.
If anything, they may have way more knowledge about a proper conversion than us fans.
If they botch it, then that'll be a letdown to their very powerful musical history.
Miku in English will most likely be optimized the same way that Luka is. Frankly, I don't mind if Miku has the same pronunciation of English that Luka does.

It's not that hard to find a cute sounding singer to be the sample for an English Miku.
Think of the songs in Persona 3 and 4, you can't make out what she's saying half of the time. I think a Japanese singing English would be somewhat an unprofessional decision. A few Japanese girls would be alright, ie; Bonnie Pink or (though definitely not suitable for Miku) Utada who both have experience with the English language. I think it takes more than a few lessons to develop the tongue for it.

and the seiyuu could read it as user through some english lessons,for example, Koizumi's seiyuu(Anime:Haruhi) during an interview
Actually English is the "wrong" one. You guys need 2 or 3 vowels to say 1. Now check almost every other language.

Well, it's the same girl doing the voices as the Japanese version, and Luka's English voice has a pretty noticeable accent, although I can't be sure if it's a Japanese accent or an e-Diva accent.

I sure hope the Hatsune Miku II (or English ver. if you prefer) will remain having Saki Fujita's voice, but with better English optimisation rather than some other person voicing it...
That's what I'm afraid will happen, as I don't want the voice to change either. If they change her voice, she'll no longer be Miku... this will either be really good, or suck horribly.
The same voice actor will be utilized. She has even started studying English seriously to improve her English pronunciation and tone necessary for making Miku's synthesized English voice.

Eh, I understand. I went for visual arts education for a reason... On the other hand, I'm so lame as to not be able to figure out how to work out most audio-based stuffs.
