Microsoft’s Japanese launch of Kinect appears to be having trouble capturing public interest, despite the Xbox 360’s new-found family friendliness.

Interestingly, prior to the appearance of these photographs several anonymous 2ch posters were busy enthusing about how “packed” the stores were thanks to Kinect and how “amazing” the controller was – after being confronted with the photos they prevaricated, saying “you just missed THE BOOM” and “you had to wait 15 minutes to have a go,” and most interestingly of all, “there were loads of people, bringing their families too and such.”
