this looked more like a parody of transformers, considering the show itself is supposed to be a parody of american cartoons and americans. contrary to popular belief transformers was an american cartoon. yes we did used to have sick ass cartoons.
There are people who don't think Transformers is American? Really? A massive 18-wheeler that turns into a red, white, and blue robot seems far too American to me for there to be any mistakes. Still, I guess the average person doesn't know the difference between a Gundam and a Transformer.

One could argue that it was both American and Japanese, but it was Japanese animation and the toys it was based off of were Japanese as well. Not to mention it aired in both countries then anyway. But say what you like; it doesn't really matter in Transformers' case.

Now that is most amusing.
Gainax even went so far as to get the original seiyuus for Optimus Prime (Genda Tessho) and Megatron (Kato Seizo) to reprise their respective parodied roles in this episode. lol
Now it'll be even more amusing if the US localization team could get Peter Cullen and Frank Welker to voice them for the English dub.

OMFG, that is so awesome, and I sincerly hope the english dub has those voices as well.... though its entirely possible they will use the voice of megatron from the new films since the designs were more similar to the 3d CG versions....... but Peter Cullen.... he is Optimus..... there ain't no way he won't get that role, even in a parody form.
