China has seen to it that Japanese clothing is banned from an upcoming APEC summit to be held in Japan.
The APEC summit, to be held this year in Yokohama, will see Asia-Pacific leaders gather to discuss various issues, primarily economic.
Traditionally the summit location rotates through the member nations and a noted part of the event is a photo opportunity in which leaders dress up in the national costume of the host (as can be seen above with the premiers of Japan and China embracing each other whilst dressed in traditional Chinese clothing).
This year however, Japan has once again succumbed to Chinese pressure and cancelled the leadership cosplay event entirely.
Some sources connected with the event have tried explain the change as “in order to show signs of economy amidst a financial crisis” but others have frankly admitted “it was because China disapproved.”
Wearing traditional Japanese clothing, or even clothes which can be mistaken for it, is on occasion enough to provoke attack by mainland Chinese, and Hu Jintao probably did not wish to be shown so dressed, although this does not explain why he did not simply refrain himself.
Japanese Clothes originated and modified from our HanFu…
and Japs admit that which I appreciate Japanese most
It literally makes no sense to me doing weak stuff like this for all of which is no good reason that is even relevant anymore…
It literally makes no sense allowing your own attire to be banned from something that takes place in “Your Own Country”…
Can’t wait to hear/read the next exciting chapter in this messed up relationship China & Japan’s Politicians seems to have…
It literally MAKES SENSE because apologies and reparations have not been forthcoming. Japan own up, so that USA can get out of *OCCUPIED* Japan!
5. The Government of the People’s Republic of China declares that in the interest of the friendship between the Chinese and the Japanese peoples, it renounces its demand for war reparation from Japan.

If that article is true (like anything in wikipedia is not spin especially where geo-politics and the Zionist lobby is concerned), that still leaves the people who suffered and who are for all purposes of reparations, a separate entity from the Chinese government itself. So who had to clean up the mess after the incursions and attempted annexations? The people – from which government extends from, and not the other way around.
Japan has no other way it wants to apologise for the Nanjing/Manchuria and elsewhere Holocaust Invasion/Occupation. And they will keep doing things like this to apologise rather than officially apologise.
China needs to allow Japan to apologise too but Japan doesn’t have the stomach for it either. So there you have it, Japan trying to save face, China looking for restitution but getting backhand insults with scraps of apologies like this.
Worse part is that Japan AFTER being hammered by American Nukes, has effectively lived under indirect occupation. Between America’s fall and China’s rise Japan has in fact a chance for real sovereignty instead of being America’s backdoor to any potential invasion of East Asia, but look what happened in Iraq.
Do you think Japan would have a better time among the Americans (which they are effectively a pawn of given the Okinawan and near 20 other bases and 50K troops) or the Chinese? I don’t know how deep the anger in Nanjingers especially is, but it would be best that Japan be forthright about what it had done, so that spats like these will no longer allow everyone else to look down on east Asia and so that everyone could move on.
Even Korean war reparations have not been adequate and if those comfort women are not compensated FULLY and IMMEDIATELY before they die, Japan would have missed the boat for apologies that would not make them into a punching bag for North East Asia for at least decades to come.
The feeling would die out after the current generations depart but history would record that no reparations were ever made to the generation that suffered in Korea or China while they were still alive . . . not all Japanese believe in withholding and not moving on, but unfortunately this clothing issue is the only thing Japan’s current crop of leaders want to let up on.
Very bad showing overall because it is the CIVILIANS that need apologising to and would appreciate apologies more, even as apologies to Korea and China itself are an entirely different level of reparation that have not even been addressed.
Who threw the first blow? So who should compensate?
lol i wonder what will they ban next?
ohhh let’s ban japanese import product’s, cars, heck why not ban them from the world map?
damn chinese 😐
oh honestly
japan u fail :/
