Ore no Imouto Otaku Deviance Anime

The 5th episode of Ore no Imouto picks up right where the previous incest-y episode ended, continuing the charming story of a beautiful 14-year-old model both blessed and cursed by fate to walk the bold path of an otaku.
The episode does start off right at the grounds near the Comiket’s Big Sight (or as it’s called in this particular show, the “Ocean Sight”), but first, a quick look at the OP:
The OP for the show is actually fairly mutable, usually changing a few frames with elements related to the upcoming episode, but this episode also had Kirino’s model friend Ayase was promoted to whichever rank allows for name placement in an OP sequence.
Being a closet otaku in this sort of show tends toward “troublesome”.

This phone happens to have some fun lines – to paraphrase one:
“I’ve seen it on the news…in Japan, there are anime and games where they do perverse things to little girls…”

This suitably scandalous otaku-related headline reads something like:
“Popular Game Copycat Deviant (did something) to a Little Girl…”
This one goes roughly like so:
“Game Copycat Otaku Deviants Continue To Spread”
For those who might be curious, the concept of an especially negative perception of otaku held by commoners is actually not at all an invention of creative license by anime screenwriters.
Comiket is often treated as a mass gathering of eccentrics in media reports and the status of otaku is assuredly seen as a negative by most Japanese, despite an increasingly high profile for otaku with the moefication of Akihabara and such mainstream drama as “Densha Otoko” softening their image a considerably from the early 1990s, when the memory of the famed “Otaku Murderer” were still fresh.
This shot bodes very well for the eventual DVD/BD release, as the ethereal fog suggests a pending ero-upgrade for the home release.

This episode lacked a full ED sequence as the last episode did, but it did provide a gorgeous ending illustration as usual:
The artist for this one is みつみ美里 / Misato Mitsumi (website), an eroge artist involved with company Leaf and primarily responsible for To Heart 2’s memorable art.
The cute ED song was, again, a new number, this time named オレンジ / Orenji (Orange) sung by Kirino’s seiyuu Ayana Taketatsu, sounding a bit more like her Azunyan voice than usual for this show.
As a bonus, the CMs aired during the episode included this one for the upcoming PSP game:
The screenshots shown seem to be of the mostly sanitized, light-ero visual novel variety that normally are as close as it gets to an eroge on a console, plus some 3DCG ingame avatars, awkwardly animated as non-motion captured CG characters often do.
The game is set for a January 27 release:

I just feel bad for the brother, what he is putting himself through for that ungrateful sister is commendable but still insane.
He should finally do her to awaken her deredere side. ^_^
Well when he was giving that whole speech about their relationship I wasn't sure if he meant brother sister love, or just love in general. I was hoping it was hot steamy incest, but I was let down.
I'm going to be rather disappointed if it does develop into incest. The normal platonic brother/sister relationship they're developing is cute. It'd ruin it if they just ended up fucking. That's just my opinion, of course.
The anime will probably stop before it develops in this direction.
There's no way they can include what's in the later volumes with what episodes we have left, 8 ? If we get another season, that's another thing though... personally I wouldn't mind a second season with some wincest action.
Only one thing to say about this episode : Ayase is a fucking bitch. Definitely deserves a place in the Top10 of characters I hate.
But you have to admit that her concerns are valid. It's not bad for people to be concerned about their friends who engage in activities they deem to be unsuitable.
well I kinda agree and kinda don't I mean before I did think she was a pretty kl but Idk after this ep I think I changed my mind lol even though she just concerned about her friend she did come off a little bitchy about it. but of course there are far worse then her she maybe A little bit but to be honest I can think up lods more more bitchy then her shes not even in my top 10 lol.
What do we have to do to awaken her lesbian side? I mean come on! She likes games with lots of cute girls, she gets a friend so pretty they pay her to take her photos, the obvious progression of this story is her getting a crush on her friend.
It would also make for a really dramatic twist in their relationship as brother and sister, with him hiding his feelings in support of her little sister new found sexuality.
But nooooooooooooooooooo, we can't have any lesbians, girls who like and are confortable with porn are ok, girls who cosplay and push their friends into cosplay are ok, girls who don't do guys are no deal however, as if that ruined any hope her fans had to screw her.
Am I the only one here who finds Nakamura's voice highly.....er.... inappropriate?

I like Yosuga no Sora, but honestly it's no match for either this show or Index.
Nakamura's voice can be handy for the serious comedy type somehow.
Btw, VN for the PSP? Why not go all the way with an R-18+ Eroge with the PC? Kirino,Kuroneko,Manami,Saori,Ayase included and maybe some unknown/extra female leads.
Cause for eroge, you can pretty much count on the seiyuu being switched...

I still love this show, I feel bad for the brother who has so little common sense he is willing to look like a pervert to a cute model who seemed into him in exchange for getting slapped by her and kicked in the nuts by the sister he saves... he needs therapy.
I'm waiting for him to finally snap and just tell his sis to fix her own damn problems. But then again, I guess if that happens there isn't really much of a show anymore.

Sounds like how the end of the Kannagi anime turned out. I hope something like that happens here. It would give Kirino a taste of how much she really needs his brother.

Technically fujoshi aren't necessarily otakus. As long as a girl enjoys yaoi a lot, she could be defined as fujoshi - a 'rotten' girl. If she isn't nerdy or obsessed, she isn't an otaku.

If you accept that someone who has a real life (education or work, friends, family, animation-unrelated shopping) but will always be thinking of anime-related references, is an otaku, then yes. I even know a few.
