FLCL wasn't just "OMG ROBOT COMINGOUT OF HEADS FUR KURI FURI KURI!"it was also how Naoto matured, and how all those things in his "head" had to do with that you dumbfuck.

You say FLCL had some "actual humor" and that we need some "mindless fun every once in while". Why do you say that as if PSG lacks both of that? Compared to western animated shows (that aren't drawn anime-esque anyway), the humor is no different and while everything is crazy and "mindlessly fun", it still has a solid plot to work along with it.

You seem to forget the fact that one of the whole points of this anime is to parody western cartoons. Besides that, you also seem to forget, in Japan, anything that's an animated cartoon or whatever, no matter the origin is considered "anime" anyway.

On what terms? PSG not only mocks the moe genre, but also derives from many western looks of crude, and if not satirical humor perspective. Clearly if you don't like the humor thats fine, but spitting at it is another, and the art? Don't project your period of opinion as a whole majority.

FLCL was about Naoto's growth through the fun insanity that was caused. Everything that came out of his head corresponded to a emotion of character development.

It's one to thing to give an opinion, but it's another to just flamebait someone saying "This is shit, this is better, deal with it."

How about the fact that anyone who says anything positive about the show gets down rated like crazy while those who are negative are rated positively? Or its horrible ratings and hit count on tv and the internet. Or how about the fact that it is the worst rated show this season by critics and the general anime consuming public alike.

The general consensus is that this show sucks, which is does. Get over that fact.

The person that I originally commented on (still too lazy to make an account, I'm anon@9:45) completely passed off the show because of its 'atrocious art'. Or, at least, the only example listed by the commentator for it being a bad show is because of the 'atrocious art'.
For starters, anything, regardless of what it is, cannot be something other than what it is. A rock is a rock. A statue is a statue. Just because you think the art is atrocious, does not mean that the art is atrocious. It might be a fact that your opinion is what it is, but your opinion itself is not a fact.
Secondly, and addressing my original point, A pile of shit is a pile of shit, regardless of what kind of ribbons you wrap it in. Conversely, a diamond is a diamond no matter how many layers of dust are caked over it. How things are presented are only important to people that have a shallow view of things, and are unable to penetrate past the obvious to realize the true nature of the item in question.
Lastly, I haven't watch this yes. the things I've heard range from 'absolute shit' to 'a clever mockery of the accepted image of anime'. If the later is the case, then the seemingly 'atrocious art' is just another part of its charm. Different strokes for different folks. Not everyone is going to like everything that is given to them, so why those people feel the need to tell other people of their displeasure, and further dare to attempt to prove to others, who might otherwise genuinely enjoy something, that that something is worthless, is beyond me. Simply more evident of an immature mind.
In closing; If you don't like it, leave it alone.

I'd say presentation is unique in this series. I'm sure Gendy Tartakovsky would be flattered that his cartoon style is being adapted into an anime show, and of course vice-versa, American cartoons are adapting japanese style of animation. I mean Gainax even crossed the boundaries of South Park style animation during a segment in FLCL.
If every anime or cartoon constantly use the same style of animation then the industry becomes bland and monotonous, basically loses the creative aspect.
And Sure, the storyline in P&S isn't exactly deep but it's a comedy meant to just be wacky and take things out of proportions...aka entertainment.
