Top seiyuu Marina Inoue, known for such roles as Yoko and Alicia, has reported that she was chased by a “strange person” and almost broke down into tears as a result.
She reports the encounter on Twitter:
I was chased by a strange person and panicked. They followed me as far as the train and I was half in tears. Somehow I lost them.
2ch is aflutter with the news – though asking “which one of you guys did it?” of course.
Being hunted, splattered or onanised over by creepy stalkers appears to be an increasingly common occupational hazard for seiyuu – fortunately there is an easy way out of the predicament for any seiyuu bold enough to take it.

Isn't it more like "Someone also going to the train station followed me there and then got on his train."
OMG, she's so hot yet so cute
The costume fits her very well
I'd follow her and protect her !! :3
Ike Densha! Unleash your Deep Love!
I think the same thing
Maybe she is so sure about herself as a seyuu that she mistook some guy trying to take the train as being a stalker!
Sill girl :)
200 stalkers followed me into the train! lulz
It's even worse for me. Back in school, dozens of people followed me each workday, sat about half of the day near me and kept that up for years!!
I swear, at the airport, there were a lot of people. No less than 100 of 'em followed me onto a plane, sat within a 50m radius for hours, and left the plane at the same place as I did. It's creepy how people are stalking me just because I'm a cool guy. :(
A stalker had to go take a piss.
966 stalkers left on the platform.
Wait a minute... Chen-04? Um.. Back at school.. I thought you were stalking me, but it all makes sense now. We were both just taking classes! Now I feel so stupid.
A stalker got onto the train. 967 stalkers left on the platform.
A stalker met a gravity singularity event.
965 stalkers left on the platform.
A stalker jumped in front of the train.
964 stalkers left on the platform.
968 stalkers didn't get the train.
Yeah I agree Abel. Maybe whoever was 'following' her was just going to the same place she was going. But it does say she was chased, maybe she was running for her life? Doubtful, but people still rape these days I hear.
Possibly fake - cheap publicity.
If it wasn't, then do you think people are going to admit it?
Or do you want to say "Oh it's nothing serious. We don't see anything happening" and find another kid hanging by a scarf they knitted for her mother?
Oh give me a break.
Just read the post: "I was chased by a strange person.." and suddenly "They followed.." and ".. lost them". So, was it a single person or several? Miss, did you report that incident to the police or you think Twitter is enough?
The fact she says it was like that doesn't necessarily mean it happened like that or happened at all. Celebrities are precisely the people who make a lot of things up because they are public and a celebrity "shines" only when people are talking about her/him. Stop all the rumors, articles in cheap tabloids, interviews on TV - everyone will forget about that "star" very soon and will have hard time remembering her/his name. As you may know, western celebrities PAY money for such rumors and especially photos to appear in yellow press and on TV.
If it is serious or not - it is not for me or you to decide - it should be decided by police. We are only reading a mere rumor posted on TWITTER. Good gracious! How naïve are you believing every word of a twitter post? May be you also believe everything to a word transmitted in the news on a national government-sponsored TV channel?
Plus, almost reducing yourself to tears only because someone follows you towards a train station .. sounds like a mental disorder.
@KoolKat
Unless you read the original Japanese, it may be a little confusing. Japanese typically doesn't have the concept of plurals (aside from some personal pronouns, on occasion), so some translations take liberties with that (as Dia said). It's possible the original article didn't have the disparity.
@KoollKat you use "they" and "them" if you don't know the sex of a singular person.
DAMNIT, I WASN'T STALKING HER ITS THE OTHER WAY AROUND, SHE WAS STALKING ME, EVER WHERE I WENT SHE WAS THERE, TEN FEET AHEAD OF ME, EVERY DAMN PLACE I WENT
Wow this was serious I wonder what happen if she trip and fell no cause I don't want nothing happening to her
The original Japanese doesn't indicate the gender of her pursuer so one way around this is to use "they." I assume it was a "he" but she does not explicitly say this.
"which one of you guys did it?"
"ME!"
I want too see someone saying this..
"which one of you guys did it?"
2ch... ^_^
Baka, I wasnt stalking her, I was stalking her friend that was with her
"Which one of you guys did it?"
Hm, I see they're approaching this with the most obvious suspects first: themselves.
"which one of you guys did it?"
Well,at least they're honest.
I like how the 'easy way out' points to Aya's 'betrayal' article. xD
Well, maybe it was wabbit season.
@KoollKat: Hi, you must be new here.
Or do you just not read many of the articles here?
Sarcasm aside, does this really surprise you anymore? Things like this are commonplace and happen all the time. Just leave it alone. No need to get into a hissy-fit over it.
And, for the record, you should read more people's comments before commenting yourself. Either that, or learn when to detect massive amounts of obvious sarcasm.
Most of the people here don't think it actually happened. It's actually pretty sad that you think that we think that way.
Lastly, the police is nothing more than a group of normal people, just like ourselves. The only real distinction is that they have more time and resources to sit there and collect massive amounts of evidence. Still, that doesn't give them the right to decide if something actually happened or not, like you said. The people who actually have the final say is a group of the suspect's peers. Or do you not know your constitutional ammendments?
"Possibly fake - cheap publicity."
She's well-known enough, don't think she needs it.
No offense but if I run into her, I might want to take a photo or two...but probably won't be chasing her like some sort of lunatic.
May be it's classic case of lady thinking a stalker is chasing her, but it turns out to be a guy chasing her to try to give back the purse/wallet that she drops? :P
i completely agree she is pretty famous and she is one of my favs
@Archer112
Lol, that actually does sound like a possibility from how it was described.
Aw, knock it off, everyone--let's just skin that bastard stalker alive, okay?
What has BOSSU done to deserve this???
please don't do the "easy way out" part stated above... it's life threatening...
if she really was that carrot girl she wouldve beat his ass
mmmm, usagi pyon pyon...
Yet again the writer of this post makes a subtle hint at being asspained over Aya Hirano.
Why do you think this is fake? People do get followed and stalked...
yeah. besides, she's extremely fappable material.
You have very low standards. Considering HER as fappable content!
At least that picture of her ain't fappable. Better make-up and photoshop skills might turn this around, though.
The stalker just wanted to say hello japanese style.
I assure you it wasn't me. Yet.
It's call "Persecutory delusion" a mental disorder. Indeed a work hazard...
Pretty funny for the 2CH people to say:
"Which one of you guys did it?"
Awwww, poor girl. She should have a bodyguard or something to escort her around.
Fame is a bitch. Poor baby.
She should have killed him with a shovel.
Would have gotten away with it too.
