Some of the first screenshots of actual Catherine gameplay have revealed the game to be disturbingly erotic – the emphasis falling heavily on “disturbing.”

The game itself is an important title – Atlus has been dissolved as an independent company and its new parent has posted a huge loss, so a lack of success would probably not have positive effects on future “HD” (although “non-backwards” might be a fairer description) titles.
Fortunately, the game is doing well – it is currently top of Amazon’s game pre-order charts, indicating the Atlus target of 150,000 sales might be in reach.
