There are eroges that had non-eroanime adadptations though.. I was expecting a good story from this adaptation, but what I got was borderline hentai ... awful series, really. That, and Sora is fking spoiled annoying brat.
Kanon(2006) and Shuffle! are nice examples.
Don't forget the hybrid eww of School Days.

Shuffle! was surprisingly good for me personally, I'll admit watching the entire thing not excpecting to, and the english voices weren't too bad either. Only problem i had with said eng. voices was that at the beginning, it came off as a harem/comedy sort of show, and it does depending on what mid-episode cut you get (one for a serios episode, and one for a more lighthearted one)
As the series progressed and it started getting more serious, the voices by then grew on you and most didnt notice that "hmm, maybe these english voices dont really fit the tone of the show..." but by that time you may have already gotten used to them and whether or not that was intentional, it worked ^ ^.

Nah its just us watching some of the uncensored version, in japan they either watch it on premium stations or buy the blue-ray.

Why have I not heard of this anime before?
It didnt get as much hype/publicity as the others this season like Index II for example. It was kinda buried in the corner with the rest of the shows people were most expecting to see, being based of an ero game, and also not being made by Key, it got as much exposure as it was probably going to get.
Same deal with Fortune Arterial, i didn't hear much about that show, actually close to zero, which was even less than this one until it showed up in my "recently added list" so i decided, "why the hell not" and clicked it and found it to be good enough to add to my watch list for now anyway.
I don't think so. Yosuga no Sora is a fine known eroge. There have been other SC articles about it as well(in any case, the first ep of the anime).
The anime adaptations of the KEY games are indeed of quality(maybe Kanon 2002 was it?) aside. But I think Kyoani is partly to blame for that.
Both of these animes are based off a hentai game so there's bound to be some ecchi.
