Touhou Anime Preview Released

A preview of Ufotable’s upcoming Touhou anime has been released, and Touhou fans cannot help but note that it looks very promising indeed.
The preview itself was screened at Machi Asobi 4, and filmed illicitly by attendees as is the custom.
The preview initially starts as an “Anime Tenchou” trailer, which understandably enough nobody in the audience or anywhere else cares about, but halfway through the video breaks into Touhou, causing something of a stir:

Just what form the anime will take is still not clear (a full announcement is promised on the 20th of November) – but the worst case scenario of a 1 minute advert featuring Tenchou and the Touhou girls as funny hat wearing sidekicks looks slightly less likely.

Oh wow, is this official? I'd be surprised if ZUN gave the okay for an official anime. Even if it's just a short pv, that looks really amazing. Seeing Marisa fly through the city made my day.

Personally not impressed with this short trailer or the crossover with another series. Anyway the video is a little too short to tell much. It's also too unclear to really see any quality.
ZUN is only permissive of derivative products that are
1.Sold in doujin stores
2.Sold at doujin conventions
3.Sold in online web shops.
Even though I doubt he will take any action personally, this is against ZUN's guidelines. But at least they had the decency to acknowledge ZUN in the video so I am OK with this.
As mentioned before, ZUN denies any knowledge of these works(see @korindo on twitter)

Now as long as they know their place as doujin project and don't violate Zun's wishes everything will be fine.
The story seems like something along these lines:
The Great Hakurei Border somehow weakens,
Flandre escapes into the real world and Reimu tries to get her home again.
It's not even unthinkable that she wandered over the border alone given her high spiritual powers.
The only problem in canon Touhou is that you can never return once you accept the other world to be true. I don't think anyone short of Yukari's intellect and power could manage to keep in mind that it's only a "dream world". At least Kourin didn't manage to.
About that last paragraph...we're talking about a world that save for one guy, it's entirely populated with girls whose ages range from ten to well over one thousand, have ridiculous powers contained in magic cards, and a large majority of said girls see human beings as nothing but meat and/or target practice. We're talking about a world where you can literally step between the border of life and death, both figuratively and literally, sometimes without even realizing it. I think canon about how to get in and out of the place can have a little leeway for one animated doujin.
Gensokyo has its quota of men, it's just that the girls are far more important and so the men are never seen in the games. Still, we do hear about some of them, like Marisa's father, Byakuren's brother, and the gardener before Youmu.
Those are no magic cards. They are just pieces of paper.
They use the spellcards system to give everyone a fair chance to settle conflicts and these games have very strict rules.
For once, you are prohibited from using deadly force or attacks that the enemy can't evade or block.
Danmaku is literally just a game in Gensokyo.
If you lose in a danmaku game, you lose the argument and have to back down.
Okay, I guess you didn't even want to know that.
And stepping into the Netherworld is only possible because Yukari is hax.
