I like P&S so far. I mean I have a high tolerance for vulgar humor, but I still found it pretty funny. I like the character designs, especially Stocking's (Goddamn I want hair like that and outfits like her's. The lack of goth-loli style clothes here in the USA makes me despair. ;~;) Well for the most part, it does bother me that Chuck is basically a useless, cannon fodder Gir ripoff. But other then that, P&S is a very refreshing anime. Why do I get the feeling that if the show was done entirely in the style of animation of the transformation sequence in the first episode these ridiculous complaints about P&S, solely based on the animation style wouldn't exist? But it wouldn't work nearly as well if it was the only traditional anime style animation and would most likely fade into obscurity into a few years. Basically the only people who will dislike P&S are otaku who can't stand "western styled cartoon animation", prudes/people who hate vulgar humor, and American nationalists.

I LIKE this anime/manga... A LOT.
Granted, there's a whole list of things I'd choose to see animated first if I had the choice: Korgoth of Barbaria, "The Modfiyers" getting produced, more "Ghost Talker DayDream" eps, the Samurai Jack movie, etc.
But I like this thing and want to watch the episodes when they get to english.

I WILL BUY THAT. SO worth it for a ton of retro style crude sexual jokes with tons of tips of the hat to classic Anime/Manga. (I detect lots of Go Niagi and later Junkyo Mizuno)
And I WILL BUY THAT, for I DO believe in "Support what you like"...
I will NOT buy:
1. $100DVD with a fake "Panty and Stocking" that looks more like it was pulled from the Chinese Wal-Mart Halloween shipping container and ONE - 24 minute episode.
2. Any "Japan Only" garbage. I don't care if the "Engrish" isn't perfect, you can even have ADL do it, I'm not an 'elitist'.
I won't say I'll "Steal" it, I just will not BUY it.
I don't "Steal" people's movies. So little out there I like I'm really eager when something comes along that I DO like I buy it. The "Drek" if I'm mildly interested, I just wait a year-or five and it's less than cheap.

USA is full of it when it comes to things like this, I myself like the laid back nature japan has on things like this, which is why after Disney Stopped their Disney Afternoon shows (Tale Spin, Goof Troop, Darkwing Duck, etc.) and after cartoons like Merry Melodies and Bugs Bunny cartoons aren't shown as much anymore on regular or cable/dish networks without having to pay for specific channels to see them, american cartoons have fallen from their former grace.
Yes it was for kids but damn it if they weren't entertaining shows. Duck Tales was the shit, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers was the shit, add 10 more shows here and you get my point. Nowadays what is there to give such respect to? not much.

P&S is an acquired taste. If you liked Powerpuff Girls, you will like it. If you are not the type to watch cartoons then don't force yourself. It's certainly not aimed at the typical anime fanbase.
