Mariya Ise, the 22-year-old seiyuu currently voicing Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt’s “Stocking,” reports a disturbing encounter on a train in which a creepy otaku apparently recognised her and began onanising in her presence.
Naturally she provides a blow-by-blow account of the incident on her Twitter account:

Sorry anon@19:57, onani is really another word for masturbation in Japanese(see anon@20:29). An alternative word is 一人エッチ（hitori ecchi, "doing it by yourself").
its not a japanese word, its in general another word for masturbation but it doesnt derive from japanese. its just anothe rtechnical term that is less often used than masturbation. onanism is the term, and the japanses say onani for it.
