Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt Keeps Getting S*xier

I find it hilarious when certain types of guys get their panties in a twist over how it's not like all the shit that is out. To me, this show is like a deconstruction of what anime should be and intended to troll the basement dwelling types. In that area, it's quite successful in that area.

Looks horrible, don't plan on watching it.

The character design is horrible, looks like cartoon network shit.

No matter how sexy it tries to be, the art style kills it for me. No, the art itself is good, but it's so inconsistent that it makes my eyes ache.

The show demonstrates why I prefer anime. Because anything that looks like North American cartoons is usually ugly looking crap and they honestly think rude offensive dialogue will make it interesting.

They can label this whatever, to me, it's a cartoon, and looks like crap.

The transformation is the only thing good about this show.

Even though the animation style is seizure-inducing schizophrenia, this show has something else percolating underneath the surface. A city on the precipice between Heaven & Hell? Demons running amok as the common people walk around unaware? It's Gainax. Just wait for it... Maybe.

Why so much hate?

I saw it, I enjoyed it.

Visually is like an orgy for your eyes: Exellent animation even for the simplest scenes, the drawing style is a perfect balance between western and japanese cartoon (I have seen so many poor attempts that this made me happy), it rescue elements from 60's cartoons (like the exagerated and impossible physics that in a realistic situation would kill the characters, the floating text) in a way it won't bother you (normally the physics rape looks so stupid it angers me) and even make it looks modern and I loved the swap between styles (original, semi-realistic anime and stop motion),. It makes your eyes feel so refreshed that you won't feel tired during the 25 minutes it last.

The transformation scene has a video game cutscene quality... SRSLY it should be one of the most expensive parts of the episode.

Loved the music too, both soundtrack and BGM. I remember repeating the trailer like 10 times.

Script and episode transition is so well done that it leaves you wonder if really you saw a 15 min episode... Reminds me of certain movies that failed at this very hard and ruined the whole movie... And they had 2 hours or even more. For me, to watch a shit joke (I hate them, so childish) and enjoy it... That's a big achievement.

Easily this is one of the best animes of the year.
