I'm sorry, but anybody stupid enough to force their own way into an open elevator shaft deserves to fall to their death. The same way idiotic parents who leave a gun near children deserve to have their kid open a hole in them.

You know, I watched the video first and laughed hard, then I read that the guy actually died and felt a bit guilty for laughing but it was really funny regardless.

come on, the doors have windows! he sat there and WATCHED THE ELEVATOR GO DOWN before he rammed them a second time. what did he think was gonna happen when he got through? he KNEW it was an empty shaft behind those doors and he threw his little tantrum anyway. i don't feel sorry for impatient idiots who get what they deserve.

I don't think it's funny. I honestly gasped. But I also wondered WTF is up with those elevator doors? I don't know about other countries but in the US elevators and their doors are a good 3-4 foot thick steel boxes. Well maybe not steel but let's just say a damn dude in a motorized wheel chair would never be able to break it down.

Yes I know people will say but it was his fault. Well the damn elevator should have been built a little better. Someone would kill their selves just trying to ram down an elevator door in the US and I'm guessing UK as well. That is years before actually succeeding in damaging the door.

On a separate note. ever seen an elevator with only one set of doors open? Guess not seeing as you think its a solid steal door and not a thin metal shell there to look sturdy to instill a sense of safety but is just as thin as possible to save weight.

Well, let's put it this way.

A guy walking into a street pole is always funny.

A guy who died from brain damage caused by walking into a street pole should not be funny but would actually be even more funny because an article like "A middle-aged man has died from walking into a street pole today" could only make a daily news article in the humor section.

If this would be happening in US however, a court process could be started against the government, phone company or whoever built that pole there among thousands of others because it's the only country in the world where if you put your newborn into a microwave then it's the microwave oven producer's fault for not telling that your babies will be baked if you put them in an oven and turn it fucking on.

The USA - where a man driving a motorhome activates the cruise control and walks back into the kitchen to make coffee. It's called "paralyzed with fear". You may find it strange while watching the video from the comfort and safety of your room, but you're not the one suddenly finding a pair of solid steel doors suddenly parting way into the void.

On the second hit, the doors bulged a lot, and revealed the shaft. Anyone with an ounce of sanity or self-preservation instinct would get the hell out immediately.
Instead, he accelerated more and rammed again.
