Honestly, everyone was into porn or some kind of NC-17 rated interest before they were legally allowed to be. I started in around 12 years old. If games are rated for an adult audience, it's mostly the fault of the people who distributed it that a minor was able to to obtain it. Where are her parents anyway?

Eh, this show turns me off anyway. I wish there was a show about the female otaku that I come across, not this idealized genderbent male wish-fulfillment. This show feels so unnatural, it hurts.

How did these eroge companies not realize the way in which their products would be portrayed? It sounds like that "industry insider" knew what OreImo was all about (and I'm gonna make the wild assumption that many eroge company employees are into LNs/manga/anime anyway), so why did they think the studio was going to change/how did they not know the traits of its title character/? Obviously the "normal" brother wouldn't purchase them. Any normal company would have done enough research to find out what the product their investing in is. This just reeks of hindsight and an attempt to cover their own asses.

I say all the japanese eroge producers move to somewhere with lax-er laws about this whole thing. I mean really japan is being ridiculous about the whole subject.

So, basically, we're forgetting (a) that Lucky Star did about the same thing? (b) that the show is, above anything else, completely a work of fiction and should never be considered evidence of anything by anyone reasonable. Asking anyone to be reasonable these days is a bit... well, far-fetched, I know, but seriously.

I could make an anime about a talking dog that buys and plays eroge. Not only would it probably be wildly popular in Japan, but the idea would also be completely preposterous.

At the end of the day, if this or any content like this is banned or censored crime will still be strong, it makes no sense, banning fictional stuff when real people are in need but I guess thinking logical isn't what moral crusaders and ignorant politicians do best.
