    Agree. These photos look perfectly normal for singers. Plus, they even look less revealing than other female singers' photoshoots. Sexy photos = AV star wannabe? That's silly.

    Nana Mizuku has one talented voice, and I would be really sad if she would waste that talent by becoming a gravure idol :/

    It's not like being a Gravure idol is a lowly job. Hey, I'm a fan of Yuko Ogura :D

    Just that, conservativeness is one of Nana Mizuki's best assets, that it would be such a waste for her to be an AV/Gravure idol.

    That much of sexiness is enough in my opinion. Any more than that will make us weep ~.~

    She doesn't need to cross-over into that field of work if she wants more success,she's already racking it up with her seiyuu roles and singer status and these photos aren't that bad and not on a level with a soon-to-be-AV star shots.

    I'd say if she wants more out of the industry she can try Movies.(not AVs ok?)

    Why everyone overreacted with few simply sexy photos while none of them featured swiming suit or naked body? Changing image isn't always equal going for bikini idol / porn route. Don't worry about that. I think she try to look more mature to appeal more to people from mainstream side. Those photos are from mainstream magazine, aren't they? She is 30 and y'know normal people don't like overly cute 30 y/o unlike otaku. Don't see her going for Hirano route as she's quite famous as a singer now and often appears in mainstream musical programs.

    The pics above are perfectly harmless - and we can't have her anyway.
    It's not like she's diving into the porn business. Sexy pics won't hurt at all - on the contrary, they probably will push her career. I guess that's exactly why she attempts it, BTW.

    Right, I'd rather she just go the singer/seiyuu route (eventually going more into the singing career). I say that b/c of her voice: strong, mature voice from someone her size is amazing to me. Also, her track record of voice acting is in good standing, starting from Seven of Seven to her more recent work.

    Just seems like she's following the Aya Hirano route. Whether that's good or bad is not for me to judge.

    1) She has close relations with the magazine. (Kodansha)

    2) Past few years, she was often featured for concert reports in this very magazine.

    3) Even if she's trying to cater to the more mainstream fans, she's said she'll always feel more comfortable performing to wotaku. (´・ω・｀)

    Well Nana's singing ability is way above that of your average seiyuu. In my opinion, she will always be a singer before a seiyuu.

    Most of her songs can sell to a mainstream audience too; they aren't burdened by anisong elements and require more talent than just sounding like your character from the show.

    Getting invited to Kouhaku last year was somewhat surprising, yet believable because it is Nana we are talking about here. Any other seiyuu, I would be shocked. It was also a step towards more mainstream focus... Can't say that I'm against it, everyone should listen to Nana songs not just creepy otaku!

    I think this article is going way overboard with the speculations though. These pics are at a level you would see in regular photo shoots for album jackets, etc.

    According to Kyodo News anime elements aren't necessarily a burden and lots of people without a solid connection to anime fandom are buying songs sung by seiyuu. Although personally I imagine it's largely due to real singer/seiyuu like Nana rather than random seiyuu "forced" to sing. Also, I have no idea how reliable the Kyodo News site is.

    It's not exactly a career change as she doesn't really do much voicework anyways. It's just that she's doing more photo shoots inberween concerts and recording.

    Wiki lists her as having done voices in 10 anime, 4 anime movies, 1 OVA, 4 games, and 2 drama CDs in 2009.
    Sounds like she's still finding plenty of work in that department.

    That's not a lot of work, especially since only 3 were leading roles. She's basically a part time seiyuu and now starting to do more photoshoots.
