The interminable controversy over Namco Bandai’s decision to dump some of its girls in favour of some hot new male characters has given rise to some unfortunate scenes at a recent promotional event, featured on Japanese TV.

But in reverse!
I don't blame them. I'd be mad too if they suddenly got rid of my favorite characters from a game they happened to be the main characters of.
What was Namco thinking anyway..
So it was still a marketing failure to put in the male characters.
Maybe is directed for... girls?
Not so much putting the male chars in, if that is all they did would be alot smaller outrage.
It's the fact they were put in at the expense of existing chars.
This made there addition too hostile as all the fans of the previous chars see the new males ones are the reason why they got dropped.
Then they should've started a new idolmaster focusing only on a group of boys, rather than shoehorning them into a game so clearly made for guys, while at the same time adding insult to injurty by making a bunch of the girls unplayable.
The guys in this game look like a half-assed effort to reach to a female audience.
Directed at girls? Who the fuck plays Idolmaster besides fat old otakus that live with their parents or alone in tiny apartments?
You mean people like yourself then? ;>
Ever since first hearing about the removal of some of the female characters to add male characters, I couldn't help to think that the developers at Namco did this for a reason. Why? I seriously think they were getting creeped out by the over-abundance of male consumers to the title and wished to gain more of a female audience.
This change could be a case of either a bad marketing move, or a question of what Namco views as morals. In my opinion, IdolMaster was never really directed toward a male audience in the first place.. It just happened.
You thought idolm@ster was made for girls?
I lol'd. In case you didn't notice, the games had an idol groping feature.
Example: Makoto thinks she has a bug in her hair.
Makoto: Uwaaah! Get it off!
*goes to interactive portion, where you can either check her hair for the bug, or, more likely, you make a :3 face and touch her breasts.
Producer: :3...I think I got it... :D
You can question that. But why not leave the females in? Why take them out. Im all for putting in the males, but to take out the females completly and putting in the males. The rest of ur logic seems logical enough thoughi.
Damn, look at all those excited girls in the audience! Great marketing success!
Idolm@ster? For girls? I lol'd.
Remember in the first game, where Makoto was worried about some giant insect crawling around in her hair?
Makoto: Uwaaaah! Get it off Producer-san!
*now you can either calm her down by checking your hair, or ignore her phobia and touch her breasts. I chose the latter while making a :3 face*
Producer: :3......did I get it?
Ah, nostalgia. Anyway, no. This game was most definetely not made for girls.
Idol groping FTW.
What was Namco thinking? Quoting a recent post here at Sankaku:
Namco Bandai: “Selling Full Games is No Good”
It's all about the DLC and the all mighty $, I mean yen.
namco wan't me fap to these
ねーよ!
If you want to sell to girls make a new game with an all boy/bishonen/reverse trap cast. Fail, Namco.
Namco don't want the expense of making two games, they want everyone to buy the same game, so they should have just added the new characters without removing any.
Expense? Just replace the charas, the costumes and the songs and you're set. The game itself can stay just about the same. It would be really cheap to do and could very well double the sales.
Namco might as well stop the bs and put the characters back in.
Amen...
What can I say that has already been said..?
Namco would do well to put those 4 girls back in if they do not wish to further condemn themselves from this tragic marketing failure...
It's like they killed those 4 girls and replaced them with these 3 guys no one gives a flying f*ck about...
They may as well have murdered them off stage and replaced them hoping no one realize the difference...
looks like the cheezburger site will have a new mini meme to play with
Wonder why they wont put all of them ingame instead of removing some characters. oO
Like 4 Gaijin, just with more people, and rightfully so.
Looks like the initial reaction when the evangelion movie remakes where announced...
"ANOTHER remake of the original.....................?"
made for almost the exact same thing.
They forgot to throw the water bottle.
Like this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e50vqY7Szo]? I'd love to see that..
Yeah thats really funny.
Anything becomes funny when it's thrown at Justin Bieber.
yeah, just as funny when it's thrown at George W Bush
Should've used a hand grenade.
Oh that clip,I can't seem to stop myself from snickering whenever i see it.Seems like the fans know to put on a silent protest.Imagine this scenario of utter calm in a concert by "that pathetic excuse for a singer."
You and me both.
Yoshii-kun,
To complete your day,now just visualize in your mind that Tachibana Junichi = Justin Bieber.^^
Silence may be gold, but throwing a ton of bad eggs or similar stuff and seeing Namco's reaction to that would've been way more interesting.
LOL,Some butt-hurt faggot/s fan/s of Bieber down-voted the comments in this part, either that or Bieber was here.
Should've used a diaper full of sh*t...
Haha, this would make a great template like that gaijin 4koma one.
Nihonjin 8-koma?
Lol, not even the girls were thrilled.
> Lol, not even the girls were thrilled.
Yeah, 'cos the guys would hit them hard, if they do..^^°
Deep inside, they were crying out in joy.
Damn yaoi fangirls.
Not if they're closet yuri fangirls disappointed for no longer being able to schlick on Iori..
I chuckled a bit. But then you reminded me they removed Iori. I'm sad now.
:'(
@MaidNiac
"Not if they're closet yuri fangirls disappointed for no longer being able to schlick on Iori.."
*nods happily in agreement*
Yuri is just nasty... *eek*...
Yuri is teh sexy. Yaoi, I find to be disgusting cause they put there ding-dongs where ding-dongs don't belong. At least in yuri, they have the decency to use toys. But futa? No. Just, no.
The difference between yaoi and yuri is one have dicks and the other doesn't.
they killed many potential boners
And possibly some otaku unable to live on without their waifus.
Their waifus will be DLC. Count on it! It's free money for Namco, and they may even move a copy of the first game for the fans who broke their old discs in protest!
I hope for Azusa's sake that you're right.
