Final Fantasy XIV “Infinite XP” Glitch Discovered

Yet another problem mars the release of Final Fantasy XIV – players have discovered a flaw which grants near infinite XP, allowing them to reach the level cap whilst ignoring the much vaunted fatigue system entirely.
The technique reportedly involves the combined use of buffing and an amulet in a large party, creating a cascade of extra XP.
Whether this is actually a bug or a balance issue is open to interpretation – players engaging in the practice naturally maintain it is fair play, although it is hard to see Square Enix allowing this to continue.
Whatever the technique used, that players have already reached the level cap (or almost – “Figaro” stands at 29 of 30) for certain skills is undeniable – Square Enix’s character records demonstrate as much.

FFXIV in China
News came out a few days ago that Final Fantasy XIV would be coming to China sometime in the future (no time-line is currently set). While this does not impact most of the readers of this website, there is one piece of news that is interesting. The global FFXIV servers that Japan, EU, and North America use will not be accessible to people within China. SE has already banned all Chinese IP addresses from the global FFXIV servers. This will hopefully help cut down on RMT (Real Money Trading, aka: gil sellers) within FFXIV, but it will definitely not eliminate RMT.
No 3D FFXIV for the PS3
A couple days ago we reported that the PS3 will feature 3D support for FFXIV on the PS3 but this seems to be false. During a Sony press conference at Tokyo Game Show they demonstrated FFXIV in 3D on the PS3, but this was only a tech demo. The developers of FFXIV currently have no plans to support 3D for the PS3 release of the game.

Considering the fatigue system and boring gameplay videos, people probably aren't going to be playing long enough to get that much xp without some kind of exploit.
There is NO fatigue system in the EU version at least. I've played it. Also, chocobos are chocobos.

No, not all, only badly made ones allow bots and such ridiculous bugs as an 'infinite exp bug'.
This bug obviously points to the fact that the game wasn't tested as thoroughly as it should have been. Another symptom of a defective product.
I beta tested an MMO a few years ago that had a pretty nasty bug in their bank system that would allow you to store negative values of gold in your bank and your carried gold value would go up, so people would just go to the bank and deposit -100000000000 gold and be set forever.
FFXIV already is looking dimmer by the day.
Poor creativity of SE, rehash of the same maps, fatigue system and their pricing scheme?

So I find this exploit acceptable, especially when your paying to play a game that doesn't want you to play for a long stretch & STILL charge you.
SE Final Fantasy division are degenerating, & I hope to see the idiots who made FFXIII get kicked and FFXIV as well.
When the game was in closed beta, they accepted bug reports. When the game moved to open beta, they stopped accepting bug reports. Supposedly, the open beta was just a stress test on the game world servers even though it was a golden opportunity to collect more feedback from the influx of additional testers.

@00:52, Well customers can only be beta testers if they actually ACCEPTED bug reports from said customers.
Is it true that they didn't accept bugs from the beta testers? This game may seem flawed of course, but that doesn't sound right at all. They definitely would have taken bug reports. This stuff however... it's a bit surprising how much of the big stuff can get by bug testers sometimes. I was one, and I admit things like this are a little on the "Huh... really...?" side of things. It's really tough once you play a game so much not to do things as you always have, and QA testers have to constantly reinvent themselves as players in order to keep finding things with each new release/patch.

Not sure why this got downvoted when it's true. Open beta testers and even closed beta testers that joined after phase 3 started were blocked from posting on the beta forums.
