I'd like to introduce you to a company that tried to appeal to the (rare) fujoshis in Japan.

That company name was Sega. You heard about them yes? You heard about them making a Valkyria Chronicles 2 that did poorly compared to the original PS3 version, yes? Remember how they tried to appeal to that nonexistent female demographic compared to the mostly male-centric demographic? And them dumbing down/removing core elements of the game that made the PS3 version good?

Yeah, you MIGHT want learn from those guys. You guys are ROLLING in the money. Put both the prettyboys AND the girls and leave the multiplayer in and HEY, you have a game that appeals to EVERYONE.

Who would've THOUGHT?

This is why the VG industry in Japan is dying. Its being held hostage by no-lifers.

well Idol Master looks like a gay game anyway

I understand that it sucks if your favorite character is taken out but at the same time, they are acting like yaoi fangirls do when a female character "interferes" with their favorite pairing or cast. Reminds me of when Kingdom Hearts first came out, the fic writers hated Kairi and made her out to be some skank in the way of Sora/Riku. Anyway, not cool.

I strongly have to agree about the adding a multiplayer function to Idol Master. That would be awesome in a way. It could be great play between friends, imagine the fun you can have.

And i'm very sure they'd return Iori, Ami, Azusa and Ritsuko as Downloadable Content. If i'm wrong i'm wrong, I mean they been foundation characters for so long you really can't just sweep them away and forget them.

The fans have ugly features anyway so they have the right to be jealous. Not to mention they stink too... why not give 'em a brick.... I mean... a break.

Next thing you know, the Xbox360 was just another beta test for the PS3 port, which brings back the lost girls, adds the DS idols, and maaaaybe add one more guy (just to keep the fangirls busy).

They could've just developed and released a female-oriented branch (or whatever), like Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side, but no.

Oh well.

Or they have thought THIS far ahead...and a Idolm@ster Live for You 2 where they reintroduce the 4 removed idols...and a bunch of other expanded gameplay, minus the story portion and so on...all for some extra sales, 'cause they know the fans WILL buy it up.

The men ,,,, are truly a blatant attempt to expand fanbase.

The missing 4 idols are likely to be an attempt to expand DLC sales. Possibly it could be a plot reason but that's a bit optimistic.

At least 72-chan is there. But this is not a good sign. We im@s fans are 2nd only to the touhou empire. We fuel 360 live with our point cards. Give us what we want or there's going to be some serious problems.

The main selling point of this game is to be the IdolMaster of GIRL idols. Its main target audience is the male populace of Japan. What other reaction did you expect? I could understand this move if they'd just come out with a version for males and another for females.
But hey, developers deserve every bit of outrage, because lately the business tactics of the big brand names are remarkably bonkers.

I bet they are making a new anime 'Idolm@ster Mechafaakers' were the 3 guys get all the girls pregnant and move to Utah, USA for multi-wife marriage, next to Las Vegas of course where you get to play their 2 year old babys dancing on stage in special shows after the now family group decides on whos wife will be whos wife. Not a sequel to the last 26 ep anime.

On one hand, I was never interested in Idolmaster before this change (trap and reverse trap did intrigue me though).

On the other hand, it's unfair to get rid of fan favorites to make room. I may not have had particular interest in the characters that were replaced, but I've had this sort of thing happen to me way too damn often in games. It's hard to enjoy the game with the same amount of enthusiasm once the only characters you really like are gone. So I can kinda relate to how upset the fans are.

They should've made another game for the male trio or something.

when i think about the idolm@ster i only think i could hear the chiaki takahashi's n asami imai's voice... i don't really care too much about the fan service...
