Does it make it OK if they themselves are the pirates?

I believe that those who blame foreigners for pirating Japanese games have no idea what they're saying.

When a game is set for release in Japan, the pirates abroad do not necessarily affect Japanese sales. Because these pirates were never inside the expected and intended release zone.

However, those who live in the release zone and pirate the software do affect the sales. I'm not defending the pirates, it's just that the blame foreigners receive for the decline of the Japanese manga and game industries seems misplaced and no truth has been truly been seen.

They already patched it from what i heard. so whatever

Oh, you should have been around last year when Heart Gold and Soul Silver leaked a day before the Japanese release date and someone on 2ch had a copy and an English site got a hold of the news... Let's just say that some of the later parts of the thread were...festive.

Ironic how the no EXP anti piracy was cracked a few days ago.

And then a few days later a patch was released that fixed everything.

I don't even get how they WOULD prevent exp gains. what it forces you to connect to an internet server from time to time? otherwise I see no way to make software do such a thing....how does it "detect" that it's pirated? Isn't that what proper piracy cracks are for?

That means no Moemon or Touhoumon Black and White as well? Those hacks are wonderfully fun. What are you going to do about THAT Nintendo?

I always get pirated games , play them , asses the worth of it then buy it if i liked it.

About 2 years ago when stranglehold was a "holy shit nice game" i played the demo and then bought the game ... only to be ef-ing dissapointed. However after that I played Mass Effect 1&2 Dragon Age (All) and Cs:S (and when i bought this from a store I got a bonus of 3 games :D : hl2dm,dod,hl2lc)

So my point is:
Get a game in a pirated way to test its worth THEN buy it. If you choose to buy it first and then weep about it then good luck in life.

Breaking protection on Nintendo games is actually the shallow end of the pool.

give it a week, there will be a patch to fool the game into thinking it's not using a flash card. Just like the patch for Zelda Spirit Train.

The only copy of Pokemon BW im getting is the US Version of Grey. Right now im playing the ROM with a patch so that i get EXP and advance in the story...just to get a fix for now.
