Top seiyuu-idol Rie Tanaka has revealed that she has provided the voicing for Final Fantasy XIV’s Miqo’te character race.
She revealed her voice is selectable and urges fans to try it:
“Actually, I was entrusted with Miqo’te voicing in FF14!
When creating a character, if you select a Miqo’te and set its voice to ‘2’ you can play with my voice!
Lots of you in the beta are already playing with it I think, and more will on release!
Please do try it!”
This will probably force a few character regenerations.

Damnit, and they just stopped the Open Beta.
Was Voice 2 in the US version also Rie Tanaka's voice? I noticed Voice 1 and 3 sounded like they were done in a US production studio (e.g. sounds like crap), but Voice 2 for Humans and Miqo'te sounded pretty decent, almost JP seiyuu quality.
If Square-Enix kept that in for the US version that's AWESOME.
All the emo voices beside the cutscene dialogs are done by Japanese. Since those didn't require spoken words. They didn't change them.
