Furries Get Their Own RPG: Solatorobo

Furries will be delighted to learn that upcoming RPG “Solatorobo” has apparently been designed exclusively with them in mind.
Supposedly developers CyberConnect2 (best known for the .hack series and their outstanding Naruto games) have acknowledged the title as “kemono-er” friendly (the Japanese equivalent to “furry fandom”) – certainly looking at the artwork it is hard to come to any other conclusion.
The game itself is a standard action-RPG affair for the DS, with a “kemono” setting, boasting anime segments by Madhouse and character designs by Nobuteru Yūki (best known for Escaflowne).

I seriously doubt that, so dubbing this a "furry" game like many of you have is just ridiculous. Following that same train of logic, you can claim that all games, cartoons and any other type of artwork that features anthropomorphic characters are "furry". That includes the caveman wall paintings from before the birth of the written word.

The percentage of outspoken freaks in the furry community is no more or less than the same in the anime, gaming, star trek and star wars communities. Seriously, get over it. Furry fandom has certainly killed the chance to enjoy these kind of storys and characters. I like the look of the game, as long as there are no sex scenes, furries are ideal for a classic, innocent and tastefull story (unless you can pull a Blacksad, wich is awesome too, eithout that dirt feel)

Anyways, regardless from the fact that it's a game featuring furries, that I like them or not, the game itself (the concept, the art and everything...) looks pretty fun! ^^

Unfortunately there tends to be a huge stigma attached to the whole furry thing and understandably so. Many people tend to be outraged by the furry culture because, like myself, we may feel our childhoods have been somewhat raped. The thought of people getting off whilst wearing cartoon character fursuits (characters we may have grown up with) can be a difficult thing to accept for some.
But you ARE correct. We need to be able to look beyond the damaging stigma and see this as a harmlees game. The character designs do look good!

I think that's the main reason why furry stuff freaks me out as well. I suppose people on the Internet can handle any kind of sick fetish as long as it doesn't rape something that is meaningful to them, such as the cartoons they grew up with.
The other reason might be that I was never much of a fan of anthropomorphic animals to begin with. Unfortunately, around the early 90s, we were stuck with that stuff if we wanted to watch cartoons. Even back then, I couldn't for the life of me understand why companies like Disney insisted on anthropomorphic animals everywhere.
