Valkyria Chronicles 3 on PSP “From Now On a PSP Series”

Sega has announced that Valkyria Chronicles will be another PSP title, dashing fan hopes for a proper sequel and officially signalling the end of the franchise’s presence on the PS3.
The game’s Japanese release date has been set at January 27th.

Why is it on the PSP?
There are 3 titles in the series and 2 are on the PSP. We wanted to mature the series whilst incorporating new elements. Of course, we realise there are users who want it on the PS3. But it has been over 2 years since the original, and we can’t just tweak the game a bit for the PS3 – we think new ideas are required. But we couldn’t call a game like that part of the same series.
Sega’s inimitable genius strikes again – this time with some contorted excuses for covering up their decision to make the next title a budget rehash of the second game, whilst every other developer is busily churning out identical sequels on the PS3.

I care about the game too, but I'm not complaining about it coming out on the PSP. I guess people don't want the PSP to have good games. Valkyria Chronicles might make an appearance on the PS3 again in the future anyways.

and yet they continue to produce 3 PS3 yakuza alongside a PSP version. why can't you make at least 1 Valkyria Chronicles PS3 game?
hopefully the next one will finally be on PS3 alongside all the features from past titles, including camouflage, day and night battles, implementation of stamina(MGS3) and so on.
MAybe "All" of their money went to the Yakuza Project, cause looks like SEGA knows that it sells better than VC in both the west and East market

Everyone seems to dismiss the "level'd up" Graphics for VC 3. It's obviously will be much better than VC 2

vc2 isnt that bad but just 5 units on 1 mini map and 6 units overall is just sad. also i cant play vc2 more than 1 hour cause the psp isnt really convenient/handy
the psp isnt suited for that game = unit cap and "maps"= that should indicate that they should do vc3 on the ps3 but well...

I will enjoy pirating your games sega. I made the mistake of trusting you once again and buying a PS3 for VC alone. Now its years later and I only own 4 games for my PS3 and Valkyria Chronicles will not make a re-appearance. Enjoy your "commercial success". Besides, based on the figures given above - 77k for VC1 vs 90k for VC2 - if I were a SEGA exec, that slight increase wouldn't justify a PS3 outing.
I can't believe players... They asked for a sequel, they got VC2. On PSP, yeah. Now Sega wants to believe in the serie even and they announce VC3. On PSP again.
But damn, if you were fans of the serie, it should be more than enough to make me buy a PSP. Especially since it's not expensive anymore...
I played VC2 for a good 3 hours, the game's excellent, with many improvements. Really, i can't understand fans...

I read this long ago. Basically, they are too lazy to make another one and add anything major, but a psp game with a small update is lucrative so they are sticking to them. If they just add air ships and expand the world a bit, they can easily add it to PS3 again. Sega and their idiotic staff making "brilliant" decisions again... *sigh* After they killed the DC, it's been downhill at that company. They should stick to piss games at toilets. They seem to love driving all their best work down the drain. Shenmue, Sonic, Valkyria Chonicles...
