A man has been arrested for somehow persuading a schoolgirl passing by his house to have sex with him for the princely sum of ¥1,000.
The 60-year-old resident of Ibaraki prefecture was found to have paid ¥1,000 to a 14-year-old middle school girl for sex.
His modus operandi has been described by the press as “nanpa” – he explains that “I just kept calling out to the same girl who kept passing by my house,” eventually resulting in a cut-price encounter it would seem.
Police have charged him with knowingly committing indecent acts with a minor, charges which he admits. Police are said to be investigating additional charges.
Just why the schoolgirl agreed to a price less than even the going rate in schools is not clear.
Probably one of those early maturing types who has no strong family background and a good sex drive if not a very bored teen. Most good families would find this intolerable, though some materialistic or uncaring families would not bother or even be complicit.
As for being charged, he shouldn’t have done this, ‘nanpa’ made this guy guilty to a point (how traumatized the ‘l♥♥i’ felt or parents felt could determine the punishment he deserved). He however always had the option of avoiding so called ‘l♥♥i’ and using older legal sex workers until any needed amendments are passed (he should propose a bill even) for any willing sex workers. Some grey areas here.
By word of law he is certainly guilty, though the spirit of law would take into account a few other factors including amendments that lazy legislators could have neglected to implement. The way to set a precedent though is not by breaking taboos and harming sensitivities, stick to what is legal or advocate whatever or pay the price.
An appeal to strike the case off only if certain above criteria were met could be considered. This burdens the prison system (and taxpayer) and amounts to profiteering via fines otherwise. The complexities have not been fully covered here, we have no idea of the circumstances or the parental view.
Overall not the regular person’s bag (though photos could help decide), let the ‘l♥♥i’ lovers make their own case if they have the stomach for it. They will be facing a very blank wall and an angry society if they push too far.
On the material side, $10 seems about fair. It’s 20-30% more than the minimum hourly wage in the USA. Did anyone think a factory worker who needs training or a period of familiarization at least does less valuable work than unskilled work that could be done in less than an hour like that? Sex in fact is worth nothing. Service 3 in an hour maybe for $10, just $10 for 1 session alone is too much. Paying too much for sex would make all women into prostitutes, I’d keep that payment level down to ensure at least some blue collar positions remain a more attractive choice of work to ensure society keeps productive.
Just wait for android technology to simulate sex workers or blue collar workers sufficiently and all our postings here would be obsolete, and with cybernetics towards immortality or even biomedical research based versions, even procreation mean nothing at that point, the l♥♥i thing (barring elements of abuse or inappropriateness) and punishment are super-lame in the context of the bigger picture.
