A 77-year-old man has been arrested for having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old schoolgirl which had allegedly lasted many years.
The unemployed 77-year-old man, a resident of the city of Obihiro in Hokkaido, was found to be continuing a long-term sexual relationship with the 15-year-old daughter of a woman he was dating, summoning her to his home for intimate encounters.
After his relationship came to police attention he was charged with knowingly engaging in indecent acts with a minor.
The relationship with the schoolgirl had continued for a number of years, police say.
The girl told police “he made me carry my mobile and called me everyday, so I just had to go.”
It is not clear what motivation the girl had in continuing the relationship for so long.
