A major continuation to Strike Witches has been announced, thought to be a new season or OVA.
“This isn’t the end! The battle of the Witches will continue further! A shocking new development will be made clear!?”
With the second season still airing it is unusual timing for the announcement of a third season – this coupled with the ambiguous wording of the announcement has left many wondering just what is planned, although fan speculation focuses on the prospect of an OVA or third season.

The war isn't over yet! Long live Strike Witches!
THIRD SEASON PLEASE.
Also, it'd be interesting to see if they have the Tank Striker units to be shown. Maybe take a break from the flying and show the on-ground troops with the Tank Strikers.
But witches fly..they don't drive. And definitely not a tank..that's crazy talk
Yeah, but the mangaka/character-designer of Strike Witches had a bunch of doujin artwork for tank girls even before he did the Strike Witches artdesigns:

But yeah, they obviously won't be 'witches' in that sense.
I suppose they either need to sell it as a spinoff or go with "Tank Strikers" or something.
Third season or MOVIE,
THREE FEET HIGH PANTSU USING LATEST 3D TECHNOLOGY. You can admire the detail of the shadows on the laces and folds without having to enlarge.
Some of the "official" doujins out there are are just about that. "Strike Witches:the Witches of the Sphinx" is taking place at the same time as the main series but with a diferent Striker group involved in the North African campaign against the Neuroi. It's mixed air-land battle where flying and and armored witches fight both against flying and burrowing neuroi in the sands of Egypt. Quite nice, if I may say, to see a "Tiger" Panzerwitch in this mixed Afrikakorps (BTW, the three joint "leaders" of this group are Monty, Rommel and Patton, depicted as three funny stooges completely gaga about THEIR girls).
But all neuroi are flyers so tanks make no sense.
Even a land neuroi would be better approached by air strike as slowly walking towards it is suicide even for a witch.
So far no neuroi has even show fatigue or running out of ammo/fuel.
^ Way to miss the point.
@yuri: source material DO YOU KNOW IT.
The Strike Witches fly because the enemy is airborne. What good would a Striker Unit be in a tank! A propeller-driven woman in a small metal enclosure would probably be a bloody mess. She be bouncing off the walls and decapitating the other crew. Her corpse would, at least.
Have you read the african series? The witches are not in the tank. They are the tank.
African series Strike Witches?
Well, as long as they get cash, they'll milk the cow.
As long as they get milk, they cash the cow.
as they cash the cow, they will milk long.
As long as they get the cow, they will milk the cash?
they're useing wwII asa a refrance, they only cover two major campains out of seven. I can see at most three more 12 epsiodes seasons and at lest one movie
You have two cows... or should that be witches?
At least I know which two I'd like.
3 seasons is okay. But if I see a 4th, I might consider this Narutard continuation quality
....
....
....
with pantsu.
I guess a 4th is fine too =3=
Considering that most of the Strike Witches series is about just girls hanging out, I don't think it is that bad as a Naruto series that is released almost every weekend for like the last 7 years..
You're right, Shippoyasha. Strike Witches will have it's day and we will enjoy it, while the Narutotards will keep that pile of *** going into the next century!
I'd love to see a season or two of the Sphinx Strike Witches. I sure won't complain about moar Lucchini, either. ^_^
it would make sense that they would cover events in africa, but I think they might do the Samomuls/norway voltery airforce. they already gave Ursala (erica's sister) screen time.
A good videogame is one of the things they should be doing. A good 3D game with good mechanics, cel shaded characters and badass action.
New season, new season, Beetle jui- I mean NEW SEASON! XD
Yay~ (; w ; )
o yess more loli goodness :D
YupYup. ^_^
Yes!! i hope for a new season !!
Strike Witches in the Cold War.
I would love to see a Strike Witches version of the Cuban missile crisis.
Strike Witches in milk the franchise war
Strike Witches in Europe, would be interesting with all the tension between some countries.
I have a reason to live another season.
So get your wallets prepared for 90 bucks each episode on blu-ray!!!!..
If only it were possible to acquire this anime without having to pony up ten thousand yen.
I really wish I could've liked this anime but fuck it's horrible. So I just end up collecting the images to fap too.
That's nice!
Wait a sec. It'll be either a third series OR an OVA? Can't we get both? The OVA could be billed as "Too Hot For TV" and see some loli yuri action. Of course, they could have the witches do their own cover of The Poxy Boggards "I Wear No Pants". Now that would be awesome...
For those who don't know, the Poxy Boggards are a folk band from Pasadena and song I mentioned was featured for a Dockers commerical during the Super Bowl.
Fingers crossed for an H OVA.
I want a new season now all about the new/other Witches :) They just didn't get enough screen time. And will we see at the end of this season the alien fuhrer or what ?
I'm pretty stunned. If I remember correctly, you had a sever issue with Moe and K-On!, and yet you seem to actually enjoy this show...
@actar How can you even compare SW with K-ON or moe - K-ON fans would hate you for that. I don't think K-ON has flying lolis in pantsu or nopan episodes or fanservice at all...or plot :) I know SW 2 joined the dark side = more moe, but it still has some fanservice and plot or drama. ...see... And there's no problem if you like SW too :) But please don't compare SW with K-ON -it's a "war" crime
Have a nice day.
Okay, I am now really curious as to what your definition of moe is, because my definition of moe would be just 'cute girls'. Others would say that Moe would be the sexualization of cute girls, but I digress. From what I gather, your definition of 'moe' would be basically the slice of life genera, regardless of how cute or clueless the characters are. Thus, can I assume that you don't particularly like Azumanga Diaoh, Ichigo Mashimaro, Lucky Star, etc... just because of the lack of plot?
Seriously, flying lolis in pantsu are the living definition of 'Moe' if I ever saw one.
Also, don't take this personally, and I like flying lolis in pantsu just as much as any other Otaku, but I personally found Strike Witches to be pretty dull. The story was bland, the characters and their personalities were bland and the action was bland. There was just nothing about the show that I actually found interesting. Not to mention, fan service can only get you thorough a show for so long. (In case you were wondering, I forced myself to finish the entire thing.)
But I guess that's just the difference in our tastes. I latch on better to shows that place more emphasis on the characters than on the character designs themselves.
@actar When you increase fanservice level it automatically decrease the level of moe-ness. With fanservice you can't reach moe levels over 9000 >_ fanservice isn't really moe, fanservice is the hentai way :)
I have trouble explaining what I love about this show. It's a Japanese show depicting a war the United States basically deifies, and it depicts it in a manner heavily stylized and completely devoid of the manner I'm accustomed to seeing it in. I love it for that.
Does that make sense?
No...deifies isn't a word and it's Japan who pretends nothing bad happened because of them, not America.
"Deifies" is a word, but that's okay because it looks like what I was saying went over your head anyway.
Along the same veins one reason why I like it is the innocently sweet world where all the nations are happily working together against the invaders. There are some scumbags among humans too, but they don't seem overly nationalistically motivated. Plus Hitler's, Stalin's, and whoever could be named responsible for Japan's misdeeds during the time realms don't seem to have happened either in the Strike Lolis world.
Agreed I love this series also cause the history of the industrial revolution to create faster planes. Pretty girls in fast cars is the thing of the past.
