Kinect Fighting Game “Too Dangerous for Versus Play”

The developers of “Fighters Uncaged,” a motion controlled fighting game for the Xbox 360’s Kinect, says that a two player mode had to be taken out as it is just “too dangerous.”
Commenting on the game’s two player options, the producer was heard to say:
“Versus mode was a bit too dangerous. It’s possible to do, but people just end up hitting each other.”
Although it seems possible overexcited players standing next to each other could be asking for trouble, online multiplayer would appear to conveniently sidestep this issue…
Fighters Uncaged itself, to be released by Ubisoft in November, certainly seems an excellent idea on paper, but there are lingering doubts as to just what level of motion control finesse can be expected from these games:
The game features plenty of burly men with bad tattoos – current marketing theory seems to indicate this guarantees success amongst adolescent US gamers:

you might accidentally kick or punch someone or accidentally throw the controller.
Throw the controller? You mean your entire body at a person? It's completely motion controller without any peripheral needed to be held to register your motions. Everything in this video looks stiff and clunky. It looks like Final Fantasy XI with Burly men.
If by controller, he means a loli-slave, then that could happen, I guess.
Not my kind of thing, mind you.
why can't the characters be schoolgirls in short skirts...
Yeah, a manly macho kicking the hell out of little schoolgirls in miniskirts sounds like a good idea.
What if you're a fat unfit person? How do you do a flying jump kick? How do you effectively do every fighting move within the game without either damaging yourself or the floor?
A "Tag-team" function would turn it a notch higher
There should be a 2 player eroge~ You'd have to find a loli to grope though
Loli not included!? Cheap!
I was quiet disappointed with duel savior not having a 2 player mode.
It doesn't even remotely resemble XI
“Versus mode was a bit too dangerous. It’s possible to do, but people just end up hitting each other.”
Why? That certainly promises some realistic game play. ^_^
He's predicting the WWF game. You will definitely throw the controller with some of the moves required.
you might break the tv.
look at kinect's game already trying to copy the playstation move lol.
and look at the playstation move trying to copy the wii
and look at the wii trying to copy the powerglove...oh wait
They tried to copy eyetoy of course.
Well, games ARE getting more and more realistic. Here they're just taking out the middle man.
Why don't they do that at an arcade.
they have done it before. The Gameworks in Seattle used to have a mo-cap Tekken 3 back in 2005, but i dunno what happened to it, nor did i get the chance to play it.
It sucked. Sega Playdium hosted it for a while. Terribly unresponsive and jumping was impossible. Even kicks were a nightmare. You could throw a jab...if you were the optimal height and didn't throw it too fast or too slow...
if you want to hit someone...
then call him to play this game with you...
=w=b
Yo dawg, I herd you like to beat up guys so I brought you this game. Now you can beat guys while you beat guys.
So for people who don't have big enough space or not flexible enough to do high kicks etc they are pretty much stucked with punches and low kicks I guess?
Imagine kids start going to karate or taekwondo classes just so they can kick other peoples' butt over a game lol
I think there's an option for people who aren't flexible enough... pick the middle men in the first picture... you just need to move a little since he also can't move a lot I think...
Then it wouldn't be fair as more acrobatic inclined people could easily beat the less using some sick combos without breaking a sweat by opting for that setting.
Professional Kinect players daylights as gymnasts.
It'll be awesome! I always wanted to see a high beam duel or a pummel horse brawl.
No different than facing players who've been training character moves in normal fighters.
This version just makes it more directly responsive. I have no doubt that you can fight well even if you can only punch and move around a little/duck.
But we'll need thin girl characters for those Olympic gymnast players. It'll be glorious.
@Marine-RX179:
Now that you mention it, this would be more effective than Wii fit. ^_^
Rejoice buffed faggots
now you can beat weak guys in video game
._.
I wish they would have versus in so I could watch youtube vids of stupid xbots beating the shit out of each other.
I would love to see YouTube videos of families playing this game and watch a mother/father hit their child, hehehe...
Wii's got nothing on the body-count if they allowed versus mode and made it a family game in the living room...
Fighting sound's Fun but imaginary sex on the Kinect might fun too... I THINK?!
This looks limited and unfinished...And removing the 2P versus seems like a waste of family fun with siblings hitting each other...
@Anonymous 17:43 25/08/2010
Imaginary sex using any next-gen interactive system would be fun...Imagine a (hentai) dating sim (Love+ anyone..?) on the interactive next-gen systems...
Hell, they may as well have made a snuff game with Kinect...
You can kick and punch a cute girl/guy with your moves and feel f*cking proud and god-like as you get hard/stain your panties from the virtual abuse...Nothing like that after a hard day at the office or a stressful day at your job...
May as well make them anime, since nothing gets me off than seeing a cut anime girl get beaten up...
But...
This is a fantasy that will never happen unless we remove the puritanical biggots running the videogame industry...And the ESRB...
Such wasted potential and boundless violent games...That will never see the light of day as long as insecure people think 2D women (2D men don't count) should have rights...
And don't give me that "For the children" crap because we know it's just fat soccer moms and insecure corporate fools blocking our way towards the full potential of interactive next-gen systems...
Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft...
SO much potential and all obscured and limited by morals and ethics...
Videogames are all about unwinding and feeling good about yourself as you immerse in the realm of 2D and away from the rules and regulations of real-life...
Both Anime, videogames, and everything 2D should never ever have the same rules as real-life...Never...
It should be a lawless world filled with pain, pleasure, and rapturous release via sex and violence in a fantasy realm of euphoric goodness...And forget yourself in finite wanderlust...
Once you start the system, you best throw real-life morals and ethics away and prepare yourself for 2D immersion...
That...Is what 2D is all about...To me anyway...

SEGA FOR THE LOVE OF F*CK, PLEASE MAKE A HATSUNE MIKU GAME FOR ALL NEXT-GEN INTERACTIVE SYSTEMS!!!
I want to see her on my 50-inch HDTV...Just like in her live concert...
*gets on knees and prays*
"You can kick and punch a cute girl/guy with your moves and feel f*cking proud and god-like as you get hard/stain your panties from the virtual abuse...Nothing like that after a hard day at the office or a stressful day at your job..."
Dude... get some help!
Miuk Hatsune on Consoles?
That's just plain disgusting.
How do arm bars work?
do you imagine ur grapppling someones arm?
Maybe you can only do flying armbars. Grab an imaginary wrist and the imaginary neck, and jump so you can slam the back of your head on the ground.
"Kick, punch, it's all in the mind!"
you go Parappa, yeah......
Interesting.., let's wait for some idiot to sue Ubisoft for causing them to get swollen eyes and broken jaws..
Probably when some retards fall down they will sue both Ubisoft and Microsoft for not warning them that they may fall while moving their bodies
I smell lawsuit.
2 player isnt possible. but three is. all u need is a referee
Referees still get beat up nonetheless.
Do not want macho slugfest.
Replace the men with cute traps and anime schoolgirls, and I don't mind spending $60+ on this...
*gets hard imagining a cute trap getting his nuts crushed by a high-school girl*
Oh I wish there are more hentai-oriented people--er, anime fans in the higher-ups of videogame companies...
people hitting each other in a fighting game?
How Savage.
from the promo it doesn't look that impressive
to be honest I don't like how there is so much hype about kinect and no substance they promise a lot but in the end I feel this product will be making very little impact in the gaming market. it's really gonna be this generations virtual boy to be honest
