Love Plus can serve as good practice for having a real girlfriend, says someone with no girlfriend.
Quoth Asahi:
One 21-year-old Tokyo salaryman was buying goods at a seaside fireworks show. It was his third time there, he said: “It’s fun experiencing the game world together with the real one.”
He has a girlfriend in the game now, but no real one. “I think this might be good practice for when I can get a real girlfriend” he says. He intends to spend more time at a hotel next month with another Love Plus player.
Whilst it has often been called an “alternative” to real women, this is perhaps the first time it has been called mere practice for one.
Just whether any of this practice at doting over a DS is any use in securing a real mate is quite another question.

At least it is here in Taiwan and perhaps in the USA also. They were when I was in college 10 years ago in Seattle and perhaps still.
