Even without any censoring, they've drawn everything in such a way that it avoids any nipple/private exposure. There's absolutely no point to censoring at all here. This is shameless really.
The only reason to get this now is because of the bluray quality.
They find anything curvy within a good radius around the private parts as explicit content.

Japan, the idea is to move AWAY from US views, at least try and go less far west and stop somewhere around Europe's level! Then again, even in Canada we allow nudity, on public channels even, at least at late nights.

The Anime is going to such great lengths to censor itself, so why was it nessesary to have the broadcast censorship? The only pic where you even have the possibility of seeing something "offensive" is the 2nd one on top. So I ask once again...

It was self-censorship in marketing context. A ploy to sell the DVDs.
To sell censored DVDs the dumb fucks censored the TV edition some more. Soon we will only see a black screen with voices. No, not voices. Beeping. -_-
I think this can be looked in the same way that CD's were eventually required to carry a "EXPLICITE LYRICS" label on the cover. Many, myself included, saw that and said, "Damn, that's gotta be good if the Power is worried about me listening!"
Now, how many people, while watching the show, thought to themselves, "Damn, that's gotta have sweet bewbs and stuff if they gotta censor!"...and rushed out to buy the BD with haste? I call that Second Degree Otaku Abuse.
