And going back to the video.. the choreographer for the dancing needs a couple of lumps on his head for the bad dancing. But he gets brownie points for originality.

I LOVED THAT MUSIC! Wonderfully celtic! Oh yeah, Aragest Senki is hot as usual. I hope the gameplay is better though. I could do without the pop dancing though. I always hated that. Yeah I even hated Haruhi's intro, wasted extra frames! I wish they had used frames like that for Tenjo Tenge's awesome intro.... but hey, if you liked Haruhi's dance, more power to you.

That's just pretty much how all idols dance. =/
Yup, really it's down to can you sing, or look like you can sing, while doing the motions. If you're running around doing acrobatics with crisp singing voice, you're obviously lip-syncing, and nobody wants to be well aware that they're paying to see that. So matching idol style dancing also turns these characters into perceived idols, which helps the illusion that they are special and to be loved and admired. Basically down to a marketting method that was just fun for some animators/motion capture dancer.
Heh, in fact it may just be that this is the same mo-cap actors as the Idolm@ster one.
Anything more elaborate or actually impressive would probably inhibit the singing or require a lot of time and talent to master while singing. Other than that, gymnastic idols and trapeze idols are off-limits...in real life.

The first one did. I ordered special edition with the Oppai Mouse Pad, the pillow cover, art book, etc. I haven't even played it yet and it was worth it ^^ The mouse pad is the best I've ever had!

They would if it's viable, but game sales overall in Japan, especially for home consoles are down. And the economy is totally frozen in Japan right now. Hopefully the economic doldrums will be over sooner than later.
