Giant PS3 Spotted

Sony’s expertise in either miniaturisation or mimicry seems evident from the above image.

Little wonder the PS3 ended up the bulkiest of the current generation.

I'm referencing what the "Vagabundos" from Lost Planet 2 say in the beginning of Episode 5, Chapter 1 when they spot something BIG on the monitor...

Funny...The Vagabundos do act like d*cks in Episode 5 of Lost Planet 2...

Ridiculously violent, gung-ho, trigger-happy, Overland Battleship stealing, Category G destroying, NEVEC-hating d*cks to be exact...

    @Anonymous 22:17 03/08/2010

Strangely coincidental that it means hobo in Portuguese, since the Jungle Pirates in Episode 1 speak Portuguese...

And both Vagabundos and Jungle Pirates both belong to the "Fight Junkies" Snow-Pirate Faction...

@ Comment by Azure Xuchilbara 22:54 03/08/2010: I rofl'd at the sarcastic comment. Yes, it is Portuguese (Brazilian). I have no clue if they use that in Portugal, there are pretty different words for the same situation/object in some cases. Personally I can't understand what Portuguese ppl say because of their spelling (not criticizing, each with his own).

Perhaps some designer was tapping his pencil on his desktop, trying to think of ideas, then looked out his window, saw the building, and thought, "That thing looks cool.... HEEEYYYYY... I know what I'll do...!"

your not very smart are you? lol there is no way that statement would work with swapped consoles. In case you forgot the PS3 has a ridiculous number of Cores but the majority of games look the same or better on 360.

    Comment by Anonymous
    18:44 03/08/2010 # ! Neutral (0)

well while it is true that almost all x-plattform games look better on the 360, it's not because the PS3 can't handle the graphics. It's because the PS3 is way too hard to understand and it is way too timeconsuming to make optimized Games for it.

CliffyB (from Epic Games) said that on last Years E3 and many other Devs agreed to him. The best prove that the PS3 can do alot more than the 360 is Uncharted 2, which has by far the best Graphics to date on Consoles.

I have both consoles btw and i'm using my 360 for almost all Games (since xplattform games are still better and will always be), but the exclusives the PS3 has are simply astonishing.

Knowing Cell processor fail. Cell has only one core (PPE) and 7 (SPE) sub-cores.

isn't the cell an 8 core processor with 1 core disabled by default to make the fail rates on the chips lower?

    Avatar of RaspberryKisses
    Comment by RaspberryKisses
    20:57 03/08/2010 # ! Neutral (0)

no. it was initially 1 PPE and 8 SPE but 8th SPE was locked-out to improve manufacturing yields. 7th SPE is for XMB only. That leaves 1 main PPE and 6 SPE for processing games. Still Cell is more powerful than Tri-Core Xenon (xbox) but Cell is hard to program so it explains why multi-platform games looks better on xbox.
p.s. SPE =/= core it cannot process information independently without PPE.

Console war is a serious business lol.

    22:54 03/08/2010 # ! Neutral (0)

For a gaming console, CELL is very miss matched. It lacks a large cache size, so all it can really do is crunch numbers. Plus it's a bitch to program. The tri-core w/ multithreading design works better, for a gaming environment and makes programing a bit more universal.

Anyway, it's the GPUs of both systems which are the real handicaps. The 2TF capability of CELL does jack shit, to improve upon the GPUs limited capacity. Which is exactly why newer computers smoke both consoles.

Eh? I thought MGS4 was the best looking. Uncharted 2 was kind of 'meh'.

    Comment by Anonymous
    22:35 04/08/2010 # ! Neutral (0)

    mgs4 has allot of polish.
uncharted 2 is the better looking game.
but killzone 2 is the best looking game.

see this is where art style plays a big fucking role, because i believe that raw graphics counts, killzone is the winner, mgs4 blends great graphics and war in a better way, making the game appear better, uncharted has the colorful shit that both games lack immensely.

and you are right, the cell is the thing holding ps3 back, but sony wants to do shit there way for 3 consoles now. it was hard but cheap for ps1, it was hard but wide spread for ps2 and now its just a fuck you scenario for ps3

They would build the central air system too small to accommodate the building, hire cheap foreign labor to do a crappy job with brick & mortar, the building would suffer from extreme fatigue and warping, only to finally be demolished and replaced by a smaller, exact copy (including the problems) in the near future.

    Hmm. Sounds familiar....

I don't think that the 360 is structurally sound enough to have a building in it's likeness. Think of all the scratched discs.
