Child Porn Sweep Targeted Loli Manga

beako-loliconyamerundesune-by-torotei.jpg

A Canadian man has been convicted of possessing child pornography on the basis of some 2,000 sexually provocative drawings. Courts heard that “to call them cartoons is to trivialize them.”

As part of a 2009 crackdown on underage pornography circulated on the internet, Canadian police launched a nationwide campaign, executing 70 search warrants, which resulted in 57 arrests.

Ottawa police searched the computer of a 27-year-old man, finding 1,974 images they considered child pornography – 1,971 of which were drawings.

Courts later found him guilty, and he has just been sentenced.

A state prosecutor condemned him as a vile child pornographer on the basis of the illustrations – “To call them cartoons is to trivialize them.”

However, a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation was forced to concede he could not be considered a paedophile.

He has been sentenced to a 90-day prison sentence, to be served on weekends, and will be on probation for 3 years as well as being listed as a registered sex offender for the next 20 years.

He was also ordered not have unattended contact with children under 14, and to submit a sample of his DNA to the state.

Should've hid his porn on an external. Better off throwing it out the window - in the worse case scenario - than having to go to court.

I guess if he did own those few pictures of actual child pornography, that probably increased the bias multiple-fold.

Pretty sad that lolicon has to be tagged into it wholesale.

Why aren't the judges themselves jailed? After all, aren't THEY the ones who see child pornography in those drawn images with their sick imagination???

Well, the sad part is, Prosecution is seen as a bit of a game on top of serving justice. The more you prosecute/judge against crime, the more gravy points you get, hence the higher chance of moving up the Prosecutor/Judge rankings.

I'm guessing that overzealousness is just getting in the way of a true dialog of why equating cartoon lolicon is not the same as real life child porn.

I have to agree on the strictest and most absolute prosecution of child porn. If that guy really has the images of child pornography, tag him with a fine. If he's propagating/creating it, tag him with jail. Just sad that entertainment media like videogames and anime/manga/erotica stuff gets hedged in. Because as far as the prosecution goes, it's just a small speedbump to getting a notch under their belts.

childpornographers should be the detectives that go through the images to see if they are in fact kiddy porn. they could sate their bizarre tastes and perform a community service.
i would call it "pedo-loli protection act." or the LPPA.

just so you know child porn is anyone under the age of 18 in a sexual depiction, the kid could be fully clothed, but if its provocative in any way, its called co by the government.

whos to say those 3 "cp" images were actually cp.

    In my defence:
Dea audience. How can you think this image is of a HUMAN child? Does humans have GIGANTIC EYES THAT EATS UP HALF OF THE HEIR OWN HEAD? Are children really so easy to get? Does children fall in love like the stories tells? For all we know they might actually be ALIENS! You cannot pass sentence on someone who have nude images of aliens. What law does that violate?

What? You say it's still a "child"? Oh hey. I got a kitty in my bedroom. Naked. Rawr. Kill me.

    Thank you for your time.

thats stupid, if the drawing looks like a 5 year old, naked semi naked, covering, dildo, tentacle rape, dpesnt matter if it has big eyes or have cat ears its fuckinnnggggg child porn.

Cheeezzzzzzzzz,i wonder whats next, not calling the game manhunt a violent game cause it doesnt involve real humans, thats fucking stupid.

Face it, lolicons, its not normal.

    02:19 30/07/2010 # ! Neutral (0)

Yeah, well, the difference is that you don't arrest someone for murder because they played the game Manhunt.

Normal or not, nobody is actually hurt by what goes on in a drawing, or by looking at that drawing, so all that's left is people who can't stand that other people are even LOOKING at the stuff. There's no real evidence that looking at drawn images is going to make someone lose their mind and assault a real kid. The only thing there is people's disgust reflexes. "Ew that's gross! You're sick! You must be dangerous!"

It's convicting someone for what they THINK, not what they actually DO. So face it, moral busybodies, it's harmless, no matter how icky it makes you feel.

@Darkrockslizer - its not illegal to "view" the images - its illegal to "possess" the images. So its ok to be over at your friends house viewing is loli collection - just don't be around when he/she gets busted.

Yeah, it's funny. Everywhere there's a censorship law there is someone sanctioned by the state to look at the offending material to see if it must be censored. We're unworthy, of course. It's a joke, but it doesn't make me laugh.

With aliens & dot matrix pigment blips assembled in some sort of non random pattern which when ultimately accumulated results in what a lot of English speaking people call a cartoon.

Hey, cutting out paper dolls from notebook paper is not children either, nor is the ash molds of dying victims under Pompeii's lava & ash or the black shadow outlines on concrete walls of Hiroshima A bomb incinerated victims children either.

"Considered CP". It's easy to take a few teen porn pics, label the characters underage, and convict away.
The lack of context and the fact they only found 3 of them makes me very doubtful of weather there was anything, other than loli art.

What they found was probably pulled from long staged browser cache. Single visit to 4chan can get you lots of stuff you don't care about.

A person actually interested in child abuse don't have just /three/ pics.

It's like going to ebay, seeing a seller with 3000 good commetns, and basing the opinion on 2 negatives ...

No, they cannot be considered CP. The fact is that there has NEVER been a case where that happened because:

    1. Even up in Canada, nude pictures of children who are not in obviously sexual positions (legs spread open, fingers holding open pussy) are legal.

    2. Canada has nude beaches and they don't want to get on the case of a parent who is going to get a LOT of outrage heaped on the law by the common man!

    00:24 31/07/2010 # ! Neutral (0)

Nudist videos/pics are only considered CP by the hysterical people. You don't see the police going after nudists or site admins removing nudist content (example: isohunt). You only see a couple of hysterical people expressing their disgust.

What's funny about this is that due to the very strong public opinion, I can't view pictures obviously taken for a fapping purpose without feeling disgusted, even though it's 100% certain that no one is getting hurt. It's interesting how much power strangers' opinions have over you.

But I would rather give up my life for the cause of anime and hentai than go to jail...

They can keep their ignorance and bend their own laws into their twisted whims and self-righteous hypocrisy with these baseless accusations...

I will keep my rationality...And my hentai...

That is the EPITOME of what this is about, even about 'child molesters' and people who are actually having sex with children.

This is ALL about having a 'boogie man' in order to make people give up their rights and to have someone to 'bash upon'.

40 years ago? It was the homosexuals.
20 years+ before that? People having sex outside of marriage.

In the future, after pedosexuality is exposed as the NORMAL sexuality it is? I am very sure that they will try to make up ANOTHER boogie man for society.

Hopefully, they will also start EXECUTING SUMMARILY people who do that!
