Fans of Angel Beats have been aghast at a ranking of the best anime of spring 2010 which manages to completely omit the anime in favour of such classics as the latest Precure.
The survey, conducted by Japanese anime portal AnimeOne, is predictably headed by a certain non-moe anime:
1. K-ON!!
2. Durarara!!
3. Working!!
4. Heartcatch Precure!
5. Ookiku Furikabutte
6. Giant Killing
7. Katanagatari
8. B-Gata H-Kei
9. Yojouhan shinwa taikei

The question on the lips of fans is of course “Whither Angel Beats?”

Angel Beats! and DURARARA!! were my favorite spring series. I wish they would have continued DRRR!!! but i'm content. Working! was great i loved show.

Well having watched Angel beats and being fully aware that it was almost all hype and only had about 3 epic episodes to make the season work, the rest being more bland meh than anything else, the truth merely has come home to roost.
Now get the fuck over it, and stop calling K-On non moe as if anyone really gives a fuck what miscreants actually think.

I can't agree more. K-On is a good show for stressed people who like to enjoy a good time.

I believe the cause of Angel Beats not making it up there is because it ended too soon. It ended as soon as the other anime were just halfway into their seasons. I myself felt that it was rushed and contained lots of characters whose stories were never properly written. But I still like the story.
I may not like K-ON, but it has its following, so it's absolutely no surprise that it's on the list, nor is it that surprising that it's #1. What I don't get is how they can exclude Angel Beats, but include a lousy anime like B Gata H Kei. Honestly, while Angel Beats was terribly rushed, it still beats the pants off B Gata H Kei.

no Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou?
Although it was interesting at first, it isn't actually anything special. After watching it's first 6 eps, then finishing angel beats while watching k-on, i had a hard time trying to continue ichiban ushiro no daimao simply because I was too lazy. If it was an awesome anime, I wouldn't have been lazy just to watch it.

what a lousy list, i have to admit i was rather skeptical about Angel Beats, but it turned out to be great, but while i can understand it didn't made the cut i do feel
the shows in the list were simply of no appeal.
Angel Beats might be worth getting excited about if it had had a coherent story line and wasn't just a randomly thrown together collection of gimmicks and lame Haruhi ripoffs.
As always Shakespeare has the best take: "A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing"
Putting Kaichou over Angel Beats may be a little excessive, I must admit.
At first I failed to see how the picture had to do with any of the mentioned anime then I realized it's the best character from K-ON!
Tachibana Himeko FOREVER.
Angel Beats! disappointed me by putting on the face of an epic adventure in the beginning episodes, then just becoming a drama by the end.
The ending wasn't even that good. :/

Angel Beats was an excellent anime far from the moe blobbery and stagnation seen in recent years.
And the credibility of this list is definitely suspect, considering that Angel Beats even out sold Evangelion in its first week of sales.
When something out sells Evangelion you'd better fucking watch out...

I didn't mean that Angel Beats was better than Evangelion because I personally think that Eva is the best anime in the last 20 years.
I just meant that it even outsold the blu-rays when Angel Beats was first released.
