Mugi-chan aged really well in the second season~
Why did they forget Azusa in the season 2 chart?
You mean the season 1 chart? Probably because it was made before her debut.
i don't see the difference XD
what evolution? i just see the same character with different hairstyles over and over again.
iit feels as though instead of becoming older they're becoming MORE MOE
Must be what having kids feels like.
Up to a point, anyway.
What evolution? The anime isnt THAT old to have evolution already o.o
Moooooeeeeee :D
Is it just me or are their eyes getting bigger, it certainly seems like it from the last couple of episodes of season 2.
o.o
"...although evolution may be too strong a word..."
That's an understatement... If one of them didn't have glasses and they all had the same color hair, I'd have a hard time telling which way you read the table...
Like the mighty crocodile the great shark and the Coca Cola it seems K-ON!'s evolution has seen very few changes. A couple of early adjustments early till the design was perfected and then a very stable line proving that a good design can endure the test of time without the need of big changes.
Evolution? What evolution? To make money selling ecchi shit like episode 13 of this series......oh please die losers.
don't you mean "The version below covers the FIRST season."?
More like "The everything is the same blob as it was before of K-ON!"
agreed
I don't know about you but I am glad K-ON! got animated and didn't stay a manga. Somehow, they seem cuter animated than in the manga (which isn't usually the case in a lot of other manga>anime adaptations)
I'ts only because Kyoto Animation can turn something like this into a very popular anime.
If K-On wasn't Kyoto Animation and had Type Moon-like animation and art, I don't think it would be half as popular.
Face it, any animation production company could have rocked K-On. But only because KyoAni did, it's automatically a must watch... >_>
The voice actors weren't even THAT famous ones. Yui's voice actor I believe I was almost new to the industry. Which is hard to believe, she's great at her job!
True, I shan't deny that.
But, dang, that got me thinking, would be interesting to see this kind of series with Type-Moon animation style...
I just.. can't imagine it.
i can, its just that this show would fall flat because the characters cant be expressive enough, and allot of the subtitle detail would be lost in favor of more realism.
famous voice actors don't make good ones.
animation has the unique ability to have what ever voice is necessary, and its sad the new talent doesn't get more rolls like this.
now as for the animation itself. i don't think that a Type Moon-like animation could pull it off. at least without pulling in sd characters too. im not saying it couldn't work for a comedy, just not this style of one, it would probably be perfect for one like Rabuyan.
im trying to think of the last slice of life that had a "realistic" style and all i am coming up wuth is azumanga, its certainly doable, but it isn't easy, and with the more "moe" style, facial expressions among other things are easier to hit just right.
I never said that Type Moon couldn't pull it off. I just said it wouldn't have attracted as many fans :/
The longer a voice actor has been acting also, in theory, makes them better. Practice makes perfect!
Well in my case yes.. For others I dunno...
But one thing I liked what KyoAni did was the subtle animations. No matter how pointless some scenes are they're well animated.
Well people will scrutinize the anatomy for all I care but still won't change the fact that it works with the animation and the show itself.
Yeah, KyoAni does a great job at animating K-on!
I recently watched an episode from the first season of K-ON!, and though you may not notice, (at least I didn't) but it feels as if the animation and the over all production quality has been increased somewhat in the second season.
By the way, Artefact. It would seem to me that you've got the images a bit mixed up, since I believe that the first picture is from the second season and vice versa.
Thanks, fixed.
evolution? hardly. more like comparisons between different shades of grey.
Moe.
Moevolution.
@ Palmtop Tiger
Azusa evolved to Azunyan!!!
*nosebleed*
It's missing the characters he STOLE the cast from.. Not a shred of originality to it..
Moevolution = a new and better human race!
All of the girls' moeness get upgrades during moevolution.
and we have kyoani to thank for
Hrm, I only see very slight differences between them all. as compared to other series comparison images.
I dun request further evolution..
As long they maintain the current standard, I'm fine with it. ^^
Azunyan turned into a ganguro girl twice. K-On serves almost every moe fetish. ^_^
Welcome to moevolution
it's quality control
They're all so friggin cute no matter how they are drawn.
Meh...
I love them all!
Put me down for one of each flavor of Sawako.
I'm with ya there.
"Evolution"? There is none. How unexpected.
*blinks* K-ON! has... evolved?? =P
The greatest evolution to happen to this series would be to have an actual plot for a change.
Not hatin', just sayin'.
evolution? more like delicious consistency.
What was the point of putting this together? The only time the character designs change is between manga and anime.
There is no "evolution", only the different animators' versions. Also, Mugi seems a little off in one or two of those. But of course, Mio looks good in all versions <3.
Maybe it's just me, but does it seem like Sankaku is scraping for 'news' lately? I mean sure, some of the most recent posts have had news of new figures or actress choices or show ratings, but we've also had randomly fan-made quizzes, comparisons that could have been done or have been done ages ago (I'm looking at you Nausicaa), and several other rather random 'reports'.
We've always had those?
I dont see any difference there.
But i really do prefer the anime designs over the manga.
