The forlorn sight of a Lucky Star itasha being tossed away like yesterday’s vapid moeblob anime is sure to tug at the heartstrings of otaku the world over, or those who remember it at any rate.
The Hiiragi sisters now face being scrunched into a cube and tossed into a furnace like an unwanted Companion Cube – a positively miserable end.

I really don't see how Lucky Star could be seen as a Moe show by any stretch of the imagination. While, granted, the characters are cute, their cuteness is never played up, exploited or emphasized like K-On!, or to a certain extent, Haruhi.
I'm not one to generalize, but from numerous comments from various forums and professional opinions in the form of reviews, Westerners seem to not like, or at least not care for, shows that do not have a plot or purpose. This explains why SOL shows like Lucky Star or K-On!, while popular in Japan and numerous other Asian countries, fails to make a great impact in the US.
Personally speaking, I believe that Lucky Star is a show that is really well done, from the characters' personalities, to the dialogue, to the humor, to the situations that they encounter. I was simply enthralled by the charming characters, brilliant humor and the witty observations of daily life that I instantly fell in love with the series and because of the 'Cute Girl Moe Appeal'. To me, an artstyle is an artstyle. It is just used to tell the story, nothing more, nothing less. I for one am not really bothered by artstyles. The girls could have been drawn all angular KAIJI style and I still wouldn't have minded.
People are indeed entitled to their opinions and if they deem something as 'Moeshit', it's their right. However, many of these people (and there are tons of them) have the deluded belief that their opinion is the absolute truth and tarnish, degrade or badmouth shows that are actually decent and respectable shows that many people enjoy instead of qualifying themselves by offering constructive criticizm or simply stating an "I believe/feel that" in front of their statements.
Well said. Thank you.
If my Weighted Companion Cube had the face of Kagami (and comforted me), I wouldn't mind spending my life with it.
If a cube is to is to come out of this crunch, let it be then.
i feel like i need to do something BUT WHAT CAN I DO
I'd at least take the doors off to keep. I've gotta save the girls.
i loved this show, the ending was disapointing but i had a great time a laughed like mad, and i also liked the first episode...the eating thing was hillarius
Wait for Bunta, I'm sure he'll gonna buy it.
Someone start tracking down that jackass who dump lucky star.
i wounder where i can get similar decals for my car. google doesn't seem to help
Lucky what? Huh? DOESN'T RING A BELL!
here's to hoping more people like barbarian man post here haha >:D
This just goes to show the sad, inevitable fate of the Moe phenomenon. It's Lucky Star now, but soon it will probably end up being Haruhi Suzumiya, K-ON!, and even Strike Witches being shoved in the garbage pile.
Nothing against Moe anime (I honestly thought Lucky Star was mildly entertaining), but with all the consistent tie-ins and otaku pandering, it's like the companies themselves are conscious that these are just a fad, and that the more abundant, fickle Otaku will end up tossing it in the trash and jumping at the next big thing like a leech on an open wound.
All-in-all, it's a depressing thing, especially to the truly Loyal Otaku who still love and cherish the characters and themes of these series.
What's so sad about junking a defunct car? Sure it has Lucky Star but a defunct car is still defunct. No point in wasting precious garage space on something that wouldn't run.
Its not so much the car itself its he didn't take the doors and possibly the hood off before he scraped it that gets us mostly. For one he could have made from money off selling the parts with the girls on it. Secondly just the thought of crushing them two I just can't bare to think about it.
Akuma no Van-o
Cars are disposed of... regardless of paint.
It's missing some front panels; maybe it was in a crash and written off? Even if not... itasha die too!
wow they could sell it to the otaku's they'll make millions :D
Isn't that the car that crash due to snow?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
*breath*
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooo....
This displeases me :\
NOOOOO NOT THE COMPANION CUBE!
Heck yes!.avi
If you look closely, Tsukasa is actually crying out to me saved.
First Kagamiku, now this!!! D:
I had to throw away my bicycle last week, is Sankaku Complex going to make an article about that too?
I haven't even seen the show and yet still I find this strangely depressing.
1) The show wasn't that great, had lots of dead times but had some very funny parts. Lucky channel and karaoke endings (enthousiast konata's butchered version of head chala, wasuremono...) were great ideas. That said...
2) Obviously, this car must have been very important to its owner. It's sad to see something that has been a part of someone's life thrown away :/. And a bit creepy ; because that makes you wonder if the guy is still sane or alive.
it is not the picture of the car that matter,
in japan, if a car had passed some period of time it should be scrapped.
At least, save the door
The owner doesnt need this car anymore because hes about to buy a jet. Then he will repaint and decorate it, as similar from his former vehicle.
/optimistic conclusion ends here.
The Companion Cube is always wanted ;_;

~Dies a little inside
WHYYYYYYYYY!?
I don't have driving license but I would buy this car. OH WHY, WHY YOU CRUEL WORLD?!
WTH! my heart droped when i seen this picture! its just a sad sight to behold T_T the anime lucky star will never die!
Oh well. Let's watch K-ON!!!
it's a shit too.
hi mr Troll :p
any special reason for the hate Lucky Star :p
get this one out of here!
I could have saved this one!
Haha.
Find and burn him! He has turn from the true faith!
A sad sight to behold.
T_T I think I died a little...No...I died a lot...
Damn, this is sad. The one responsible for this should be scrunched into a cube and tossed into a furnace himself.
And this is not shopped? I mean, even if you don't want the car, the door will still look nice on your wall. :D
Wasn't this guys' car on Sankaku a while back when he drove it into a ditch on icy roads?
If it is then that should explain why it's in a junkyard now.
Where is this scrapyard?! I must go to it and retrieve that car.
that is sad
Isn't the ☆ in the wrong spot?
Maybe that's why he scrapped it. In the makes of a new one probably?
If that is the case then he is forgiven.
