Japanese gamers share a ranking of the most enjoyable games of the first half of 2010, revealing the Japanese gaming market truly seems locked in desperate times.

Also I agree to every other game on the list except Kingdom Hearts.. Not that I hate it, it's just that I never played it. Liked the first 2 games on ps2 though.

peacewalker has been the best by far. but most great games come out before winter break and before summer. we haven't hit summer, and winter was last year. final fantasy xiii to say the least.

Was Mass Effect 2 released in japan. Well since it is a xbox 360 game no one in japan will pick it up. I don't really get why that is an exclusive title.
BlazBlue CS is set for its NA release in 13 days, so at least that will be fun.
I hope at least some japanese developers and important people in the industry there get to play it (RDR), they sure could learn a thing or two about storytelling, character development and writing.
Imagine a game like FF with the sort of script seen in the dialogues John Marston had with his road companions,you know, the kind that makes you think about life and gives you insight of your character...I could really get into that.
Now that I think about it, maybe FF XIII's story and character development aren't that bad (they're my main complains of the game) comparatively, maybe I'm just a little old for the kind of game it's supposed to be, maybe Square-Enix kept making the SAME kind of game while its audience grew up.
Lets hope fall and winter can churn up some more interesting titles...

Big name gaming companies keep making random 1st person shooters and add in a few new features (whips, freeze ray, etc.), it grows old. They should work on fighting games and free-for-all brawl games. Damn I'd love to rip the guts off someone and choke his friends with them. That would be awesome
This is where I show how old I am. Back in the first half of the nineties, everything was fighting games. The exact way it is FPS games at the moment. I honestly don't want a repeat of that.
Eh, only system I have for gaming other than my PC is a PSP. And Haven't bought any new game for that in quite a while. Most of the time it gets used as a rather bulky mp3 player.

Honestly speaking, I bought the Ar Tonelico 3 artbook without even having the game. Truly awesome music, and I look forward to getting a PS3 and the game one day.

Wow, 3 top 10 PSP games, and only 1 DS game. Seems Nintendo was smart in releasing the 3DS when they did. It seems the DS is lossing ground in the, DS has better games argument. I guess Sony didn't take too kindly to people not seeing them as a threat in the handheld market anymore.
I think this actually is in reflection to a lot of the newer DS titles not being out yet (Pokemon, etc.)
but yeah, once the 3DS comes out, these lists are going to go back to Nintendo domination

It would only make sense that from a Japanese standpoint games like Halo Reach, and Nier would have less reception there as to their possible higher sales in the U.S.
