Massively multiplayer rat-bashing grind Final Fantasy XIV will not be appearing on the Xbox 360 “because Microsoft doesn’t want it,” says Square Enix.
Producer Hiromichi Tanaka reportedly explained that although Microsoft allowed the preceding Final Fantasy XI to be launched on the infant Xbox Live service, it wanted nothing to do with Square Enix over the release of Final Fantasy XIV.
The previous month he claimed the reason there would be no Xbox 360 version was because Xbox Live was too “closed” – it appears keeping a story straight is not amongst his strongpoints, for in the same month he also claimed the PC and PS3 versions would be nearly identical, only to announce a delay shortly after based on difficulty getting the PS3 port working satisfactorily.

Im a beta tester and I can tell you the game is kinda boring when it starts off. Its the beta version so I do give it some leeway, but it starts off slow with little intro. Your on a ship for some reason then you fight one monster and go to a town with stupid ass pirates. My biggest gripe is getting used to the controls and the mouse being somewhat sloppy.
You play this game with a controller and a keyboard. Just like you did FFXI. Granted, XIV's mouse/kb controls work well enough (and aren't nearly as bad as XI's), a controller is still superior.
Also, you can only start off in 1 of the 3 cities. So that's not really the best judge of how the game starts and it's story (which isn't even in the beta yet). I'll agree it's a bit slow (compared to say, WoW), but overall it's a fun game and a refreshing experience.
I like that I actually have time to think about my next attack and take in everything that's happening. Unlike WoW where all I did was min/max and press 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3 ad nauseum. It's a slower game, but a more engaging experience.

Only time will show if you are right, but it looks like MS simply do not believe in success of FFIV in Western markets, and I'm kind of with them on that issue.

ummm no.FFXI is a success just not as big as WoW. FFXIV is way different than FFXI in almost every aspect. the battle system is much different and fast paced(referring to the beta build).I also doubt the grinding will be as bad as WoW .
What part of "FF11 wasnt[sic] a big success" is wrong? Aion pre-orders were at ~80% of FFXI's ENTIRE PLAYERBASE, and that doesn't count the Asian players, whereas it does for FFXI.
FFXI when it was released was bigger than wow. Their only mistake was payment. Children could not afford or find ways to actually play the game. The other flaw was the system requirements.
These 2 points actually saved wow when it was at the stage it could be killed.
That's like saying Everquest was bigger than WoW. It was "bigger" because it came out first.

There been cancel MMO titles due to the fact Marvel and Cryptic Studios attacking each other over super hero rights and powers on the internet and video games for some reason thank's to them Microsoft doesn't have that many MMO titles.They do plan to release Champions Online for Xbox 360. It's been so many delay for the game that I am not so sure it will be release.
Of course Sony is planing to release DC Universe Online I might get that game and play that to see how fun it is.
