A survey of Japanese women provides an interesting snapshot of what their favourite anime of 2010 spring were, and what they are looking forward to in the summer 2010 season. Some rather surprising choices make their way into the rankings…

The high placing of K-ON!! is perhaps something of a surprise – moeblobbery evidently knows no gender bounds.

I'm a girl and I adore K-ON so much. It's my favorite anime and I have about 10 figures on my desk of them

The only good Hakuoki episode was the funsub of the first episode.

Hey, I personally know a few girls that were nuts over K-ON. One even drew tonnes of doujin fanart of the HTT girls.
The executive producer of K-ON, Yoshida Reiko, IS a woman after all, so I guess she should know what sort of moe pushes the buttons of both males and females.
Female here, and I have to say, I'm a tad disappointed with these lists.
Only things I can agreen on are K-ON!! and Sengoku Basara 2.

i knew hakuouki would be no.1
they love the story of tokugawa shogun period, more than the warring state period, like bassara.
it's the concept of the shinsengumi well that and even though I never saw Hakuouki probably a bunch yaoi pairs just waiting to be made.

Ookiku Furikabutte scoring so well makes me inner fangirl pleased.
I thought it would score higher. Oofuri is really popular in Japan, even if it's unpopular in the western countries.
If it scored any higher, lord knows the other fanbases would be green with envy and rage.

This season is pretty much boring anyway apart from a few exceptions.

I can't disagree more alex. A ton of those shows are actually very fun to watch and Hakuoki is actually pretty well made and Ookiku Furikabutte is honestly one of the most accurate portrayals of the sport of baseball in a fiction I've ever seen.
Arakawa under the bridge was very funny. I look forward to a 2nd season...
