About 50% of shows seem to be ero anime lately. I'm all up for some fanservice but they're going too far these days. I preferred it when there was a distinct line between anime and hentai.
Ero-anime seems pointless to me because it doesn't do anything right. When I want ero I'd rather watch a hentai anime and get the real deal, and when I want anime I'd rather watch a proper anime that doesn't try to get by with excessive erotica.
True dat. Modern ero anime is mostly garbage because it focusses on nothing BUT ero, without even offering as much as you can get from proper hentai. Fuck, I've seen bona-fide hentai with better plots than the average ero-anime.

I think this is precisely why anime is way more intriguing than American cartoons nowadays. Its ability to push boundaries.

Pretty much...Most of the crap cartoons nowadays that comes out have to be family-friendly and rely on cheap corny characters and predictable plots...
But even anime now, even though they too have corniness and predictability, still thread that very thin line and even have a crap load of (sexually/blasphemous) suggestive themes that only Hent--er, smart people will get...And enjoy~
