Top teen idol seduction simulator Idol Master has finally had a full HD sequel announced in the form of IdolMaster 2.
The game, of course an Xbox 360 exclusive, is set for release in the spring of 2011.

The game itself is said to follow the same pattern as the first, but with the game starting 6 months after the girls’ debut rather than with it, and with the game starting with a 3 girl unit. The girls will have aged a year, perhaps a disappointment to the core fanbase.
Somehow the TV spot was handed to Microsoft, whose dreadful Japanese Xbox 360 marketing campaign is the stuff of legend:

360 is expected since the main games were there already. Its not the total sales but the total revenue. 360 Live subscriptions and DLC are known to generate massive amounts of yen.

Is the Xbox 360 in so dire a situation in Japan that they to resort to exclusively licensing a niche title that has devoted, no, OBSESSED fans. Some would call marketing strategy, to me it seems more like an act of desperation.
they've kind of sunk to that low for a while in Japan
it only makes sense at this point to go after the otaku there
I'm assuming that the last few exclusives for the dying 360 will be full-on ero titles
but in all fairness, this isn't the smartest long-term choice for Namco Bandai, since the system just lacks the same freedoms as the PS3 (plus the larger number owned by Japanese). They should try porting it to the PS3 one of these days, to test the water on how much more obsessed fanboys (and some girls I know... >w>) would be willing to pick the game up.

The PS3 being region free doesn't mean it has more freedoms. In fact, the PS3 is a lot more restrained for these kind of games in Japan. You all anons should do a little research before posting unncesesary comments.

The xbox ad made me chuckle.
I noticed they added boob physics for this version. I guess that could compensate for them all being a little less loli.
There has always been boob physics in 360 imas. The amount of jiggle depends on the character and the costume she is wearing.
There was some very subtle jiggle physics in the previous versions. I say very subtle because the girls were smaller then and it was difficult to notice, but it was there.

I think it's kinda cool the 360 still has quirky exclusives like these. Now only if they actually get ported to the West + it having more exclusives on the west proper, like the competitors. I'm still very happy with my PS360Wii though.
Oh, on an addendum..... No more Berserk manga chapters for at least another year because of this announcement. lol
I don't think it's cool that the 360 has these otaku exclusives because they are always region locked unlike PS3 games so to play these games you would need to buy 2 xbox consoles.
The new 360s are pretty safe with the whole overheating issues compared to the old ones. And if they ever RROD, the repairs are free (since they were sued for it 3 years ago).
I think all consoles deserve some types of exclusive offerings. I don't think with this competitive atmosphere, one console shouldn't hog all the games. Also it's much cheaper now to get all the consoles than it ever was. And it's going to get cheaper.
