Gelatin’s cover illustration by famous artist Hanaharu Naruko has given rise to a new figure depicting the invitingly soggy schoolgirl in the picture above, as manufactured by Beagle.
I really like Hanaharu Naruko's illustrations, and I think this figure don't really represent the greatness of the pictures.
There's just this problem with the face...
This figure is indeed of the girl on the left of the cover. The figure in the article is the limited edition version. The standard edition of the figure is the center girl. It looks a little better but not by that much.
My personal opinion on the figure? I wouldn't get it. I love Naruko's work, but this doesn't do it any justice. The company that produced it, Beagle, isn't all that great. Pretty shoddy work all around. I wish Native produced it. It's a shame to waste such a good design.
yeah, the details aren't very great and it looks like it's made out of cheap plastic too
do not want :(
I do however, want a poster of the illustration
I *think* that the figure concept is original, the detail is ~ well ~ "detailed" ~ and well done and is representative of the original drawing itself.
The change in hair style was a good choice, though perhaps, if it could be "switched/changed", so it could have (both) styles represented would be grand.
I do give KUDOS a figure that "wet" in appearance.
However, the (face) does appear to be "sunburned" - O.o? ~ and throws it off somewhat.

Not just the hairstyle, it's obviously not even the original girl in alt hair.

it's a trap!
Card!
And why was it made into twintails? The original picture is eyegasm all by itself but this figurine contains none of it.
Looks like they used the hairstyle of the girl on the left instead.

It IS the girl on the left, with the girl on the right's pose.

I think Beagle needs to take it easy.
Yep, the face sculpt is below average. And usually the face makes or breaks a figurine for me.
The (lack of) shape of the nose and mouth are not so good indeed.
Why her, and not the girl that is actually wringing out her skirt?
Agreed.
Because twintails rock?
Yeah, it's strange they took the one squatting down and put her in the position of the other one. Of course the original is best! *nods*
For certain reason, it reminds me of that Beijing Olympics lypsync loli singer incident..
I don't like it xD
Beyonce was right, I don't think I'm ready for this jelly
Too bad they messed up the face of the figurine. Scared the hell out of me.
Do want
looks nice but its too shiny
That figure's face looks like shit.
Hmmmm ~

~ ahhhh, damn typo >.< ~ allow me to clarify...
"I do give - KUDOS - for a figure that is "wet" in appearance."
What the hell is that picture even of?
It's an alliance of pink piggies and human sailors girls vs an army of the green witches from Wicked?
Yeah. I want a detailed explanation for that myself.
still looks good :)
It's a transition from 2D to 3D, means from superior to inferior - so what do you expect...but for 100 USD it could be better
Mm... The wetness is very appealing.
Damn. There have been some awesome figures released lately. If only I wasn't so broke right now....
hmm well.. that KIND of looks like the artwork but.. her face.. scrolling... scrolling... OH! you can take her shirt off, then i'll buy :3
Blasphemy, the face doesn't even look like Hanaharu's epic work.
dat face...
The one at Otacute has the original illustration's hairstyle, so I guess you get 2 heads with it.

Not linking this figure at all the whole thing seems off, sticking to the illustrations.
wow Hanharu Naruko? It's been so long since I read anything from him I assumed he had retired.
