With the conclusion of the TV anime, a new Full Metal Alchemist movie has been announced.
With the main story having concluded, just what where this movie will fit in is not clear – fortunately a cheap parallel universe alternative tie-up of dubious canonicity like the previous movie seems unlikely however.

and I thought this series wouldnt have filler...but a movie...thats completly unexpected
Hey ifs its Winry filler on the movie the story can sit on the sideline
Let's hope is just Winry do finally some hentai actions!
You know filler generally goes between parts of the main story, you know, fills in a gap, thus "filler." It's not exactly filler if it occurs AFTER the shit is done, it's called a side story or continuation then, regardless of whether or not it's considered canon or not.
Back to Germany!
No! Anything but that!!
Aww... no "white christmas." LOL
It's completly expected! (at least by me)
No, really. I expected that they would wrap the few final episodes on movie format. But i never expected that the movie would be....a sequel??
They better not pull stunts like Shambala again. Or at least it has to be written by Hiromu Arakawa himself!
the mangaka, by the way, is female
Not again...
:'(
Hopefully it's the same quality as Brotherhood was.
And how would that quality be exactly?
The storyline just ended...
Quote DFC, not again...
Boring, silly and inferior to the original anime?
snap
0/10, try again.
reminds me of the Clannad movie..
Not filler enough for you aparently?
I don't think "original" is the right word to use, since Brotherhood was the one that followed the original manga. Though I'll admit that I loved both of them equally.
Full Alchemist 2: Hitler's Revenge!!
Full Alchemist 2: Attack of the Space Nazis (Cardassians).
I guess the question is, is the author onboard?
It would be sad if the 2nd FMA movie ended up being just a cheap tie-in. But unless it is canon via author involvement, I can't see it as anything but a waste of money.
I'm hoping it would be based on how Homunculus was made in the first place and why Hohenheim's blood was required and the research. That's still a bit left in the dark
Speaking of FMA, what is going to be the next big budget mainstream anime after this?
Sengoku Basara 2 is the one that takes the place of FMA: BH.
nothing more than milking the series?
Welcome to the wonderful world of free market, where every stupid thing you buy just leads to more stupid things getting produced. Unsatisfied? Then don't buy and don't pirate shovelware. That's how you tell them to fuck off.
How does pirating something encourage the producers to make more of it?
well we already got the full story in anime form. if the next movie should be a continuation of the next movie as they hunt down hitler or something, i'd be down.
*last movie
spoiler~ in the new movie, Ed loses his arm and leg again due to human transmutation. lol
Ashes of Ishval! They spent way too little time on Ishvalan war - it could definitely be made into a feature-length film.
Is that you PenguinTruth?
Actually, I wouldn't mind a prequel movie, that'd actually be pretty amazing.
as long as it has nothing to do with Nazis I'm kewl
whatever happens we'll still watch it anyway...be it crap or gold
Might be too much for one movie.. but what about the possibility of the movie being just a giant recap?
Ed regains Alchemy!
Nah...
More German Rockets?
"just what where this movie will fit in"
Shouldn't this be phrased "just where will this movie fit in"?
End of Full Metal Alchemist
the code name of the movie project is "FullMoney Alchemist"
Full Metal Capitalist?
Full Metal Communist?
(what else is there for Ed to do in 1930's europe?)
Spoilersssssss
The movie will tell the story of how Winry and Ed's children were conceived.
End of Spoilersssss, you can open your eyes now.
Meh I liked conquer of shembala.
aww man if only Naruto Bleach and One Piece follow the same suit even though these anime's were good back then but now they're getting tedious.
It's possible it could be the sequel to Conqueror of Shamballa...
awww :'( and i was just getting over fullmetal alchemist! now the're making me crave for a movie :( but still.. so.. much.. win :')
Anyone ever thought of a Alphonse-Mei sequel? Alphonse will make of a good protagonist.
Yeah I was thinking that to. It would be pretty interesting to see xing and it would give Alphonse a chance to shine without the amour. Honestly I'm hoping either this, or a prequel about ishval or something.
Did he become a state-alchemist on the ending? I wonder what is his second name... Maybe he ought to go with a unique title or take the 2nd name of his brother. If Ed was the Alchemist of Steel,.. I wonder what Al could be. Armour Alchemist? hehe.
